Riot has recently announced that they have chosen the cosmopolitan city of Tokyo to host the 2023 VCT Masters.
It’s an excellent decision as Tokyo remains one of the world’s largest cities with the most modern cutting-edge technologies. Fans and participants of the VCT will get to experience the rising popularity of esports in this booming area of the world.
VALORANT in Tokyo
Even though Japan took a while to establish itself in VCT history, their efforts were noticed when Zeta Division had an outstanding performance in the Masters: Reykjavik.

In addition, a two-day exhibition match called RAGE 2022 Spring LAN took place at Japan’s Tokyo Dome stadium in May 2022. According to reports, the Tokyo Dome Stadium completely sold out the 12,000 available seats for the two-day event.
Tokyo VCT Masters 2023
This will be the second international event of the 2023 Valorant Champions Tour. Furthermore, the Masters is considered to be one of the most important tentpole events of the 2023 VCT.
Over the past twelve months, the Japanese VALORANT community has grown by leaps and bounds. There has been an increase in attendance across all types of esports events. Riot has announced that “Our teams have been working closely to build a new experience that will thrill fans around the world and we can’t wait to share what we have in store.”
The VCT Masters will take place in June, and will follow the conclusion of the inaugural International League splits. The Masters will feature the top ten teams from each of the three leagues. Moreover, the Masters will allot an additional slot to the region that wins the LOCK//IN event in Brazil.
VCT Regional Qualifiers
Importantly, it will also be a critical opportunity that will allow top-performing teams to cement their qualification into Champions. Following the Masters, teams will have one last shot to qualify into Champions through the Last Chance Qualifiers taking place this summer.
The upcoming VCT Masters in Tokyo promises to be an exciting event for fans of VALORANT worldwide.
