February 27th is looking to be the Street Fighter 6 Ed release date window!
But along with that is also a new Fighter Pass that just dropped.
So let’s take a look at what is on offer on this pass.
Street Fighter 6 Ed Release Date and Fighter Pass
Capcom has just dropped a new Fighter Pass on January 1st!
This new pass, much like their previous, is built up for the big release of Ed, which is set for February 27th this month.
But before we can get our hands on Ed, we have some new goodies to snack on.
The main brunt of the pass is Avatar clothing for customization. Given Ed’s focus as a boxer, we now have Balrog-esc-inspired boxing gear to jump into. Also included appears to be Ed’s old uniform, which was a bonus DLC way back in SFV.
Inluded in the mix are also Ed’s theme, Falkes theme, and Balrogs theme music-wise.
Another blast from the past returning to the arcades is Captain Commando. A classic Capcom arcade title that players of MVC2 should recognize.
It may be anecdotal, but in terms of beatemups, it is one of Capcom’s finest.
On top of all that, we also get a new emote for our avatars, as well as cute Ed-themed stickers, photo frames, and device wallpapers along with titles. Not as exciting, but a nice little bonus on top.
It looks like the Battlehub and Pro Cup stages have gone through a slight redesign to mark the arrival of Ed.
Ed is set to release on February 27th, which means Capcom Cup attendees will get a chance to play him. Whether or not his playstyle has changed has yet to be seen, of course.
Because his SFV control scheme was built on our now-established modern controls, it will be interesting to see if they have made any changes on top of that.
Will you be picking up Ed as well as his Fighter Pass?
Capcom Cup 2024
Although the Street Fighter 6 Ed release date is set for late February, we have the Capcom Cup itself earlier in the month.
The first SF6 world champion will be determined from February 16th to 25th. This marks the first time SF6 has had a world championship as well as a 1 million-dollar prize pool!
An extensive lineup has already been confirmed, stretching across the globe.
Capcom Cup X is an official world tournament to determine the world’s best player in the series latest title, “Street Fighter 6..
The 10th CAPCOM CUP will be held in “Hollywood, California, U.S.A.
The SFL World Championship 2023 will also be held at the same time to determine the world’s best team. This is where teams of four compete in brackets to build up a score and determine the best SF team.
Team-based competitions have become more popular within Street Fighter over the years. This gained some notable traction during EVO 2021.
