Valve just threw a new CS2 Souvenir Update out and it’s smashing the stocks!
Counter Strike has just gotten hit almost as hard since the last gold update.
But what is this update changing and has it just destroyed my life savings?
CS2 Souvenir Update
The new CS2 Souvenir Update has launched alongside the IEM Cologne 2026 Major Hub. With this comes new Pick’em challenged and stickers available to trade and win via the menu.
However, the most important change is what they added into the Trade Up Pool. Souvenir quality items can now be selected in Trade Up Contract alongside normal quality items.
Also, all Souvenir attributes will be removed from any souvenir items selected, and the result of a Trade Up Contract will be a single normal item of a quality one higher, from a collection of all of the items selected for exchange.
Because of this change up players are flocking online to open up their storage. As now not just normal skins can be traded up but the Souvenir variant as well. Although this seems like minor to some this is a huge shakeup to the market.
Souvenir versions of items were always valued far less than their normal counterpart. This was because players were not able to trade up to higher quality good. But now that you can the value of these items has shot up. Meanwhile normal variants have decreased a bit as they are no longer as in demand.
Skins like the Oxide Oasis were valued at 300 dollars for the normal skin variant. However, the counterpart was only valued at 35 dollars. Although from this change buyers have bought up all the skins of this type making it no longer as abundant.
So, if you have any of these skins lying about now is the time to sell or trade up!
A Second Update Hit The Market
Although the CS2 Souvenir Update has hit some player’s inventories hard others are enjoying the shakeup. Now those who stacked up the capsules are reaping the rewards plentiful.
Meanwhile the general changes to the new sticker system are a welcome one all around. Because now you can get directly any sticker you want. Although these are set by price demands of course.
Before these stickers were accessible through sheer luck on capsules but now like any other skin you can just buy them. Players can purchase tokens and redeem for any sticker they want.
Also, you can craft your very own unique Souvenir. By combining any normal weapon with a souvenir quality weapon and a completed match from a pro player you can get the weapon back in souvenir quality with a gold team autograph sticker applied!
But to access this new CS2 Souvenir Update feature you will need to buy a pass. This still does have an element of luck to it. However, the rewards here are a lot more incisive and exciting.
Although you can just ignore all of this and just play the game as normal. Default skin users do put the fear of God of me mid match. Are they a fresh Smurf or cheater… Call it!
