The Russian jungler of the LEC team Astralis, Nikolay “Zanzarah” Akatov has left the organization and announced that he is looking for a team.
Astralis had one of the lowest budgets in LEC and never achieved anything worthy in the last years. After finishing the LEC 2022 Spring Split at the last place, Astralis released Matti “WhiteKnight” Sormumen, Hampus Mikael “promisq” Abrahamsson, and the coach Mikkel “Donby” Donby. Lastly, they have also parted ways with their talented jungler, Nikolay “Zanzarah” Akatov. Zanzarah has announced his departure from Astralis and that he is looking for a new home for the upcoming season.
Astralis‘ LEC 2022 Spring Roster
- Matti “WhiteKnight” Sormumen
- Nikolay “Zanzarah” Akatov
- Oliver “Dajor” Ryppa
- Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup
- Hampus Mikael “promisq” Abrahamsson
- Mikkel “Donby” Donby (Coach)
Zanzarah has played for various teams both in CIS and Europe. His career started with the CIS team Team Just and continued with Carpe Diem, Vega Squadron, RoX, and Meta Abusers before joining the European ecosystem. His European journey started under the KIYF eSports Club uniform where he competed in the Iberian Cup. He then joined Origen and AGO ROGUE to prove that he is capable of competing in LEC. Astralis’ scouts acquired him to join their LEC squad and he spent 1.5 years with the organization.

Astralis have been acquiring promising talents but yet to catch success with their current roster-building style. It is still unclear who they are going to transfer for the upcoming LEC roster but WhiteKnight, Zanzarah, and promisq will not be with them.
Zanzarah has also shared a tweet that he is looking to sign with a new team for the upcoming split. He may or may not find a team in LEC. He can still look for ERL options as the competition in the regional European leagues has risen.
