Datamined PTR items suggest players may be able to upgrade their gloves with permanent bonuses that work inside Delves and Labyrinths.
World of Warcraft players may soon have another way to increase their power while tackling Delve content.
Datamined information from the Patch 12.1.5 PTR has revealed four new glove enhancements that appear to provide permanent bonuses while players are inside Delves and the upcoming Labyrinths. The enhancements are currently part of the test version of the game, meaning their effects and availability could still change before the patch officially launches.
New Glove Enhancements Could Boost Delve Power
According to the datamined information, the new enhancements are specifically designed for Delve content. Unlike traditional equipment upgrades, these bonuses would remain active while players are participating in Delves and Labyrinths, giving players another way to strengthen their characters within this type of content.
Blizzard has not yet revealed exactly how players will obtain the enhancements. However, their connection to the new Labyrinth content suggests that players may acquire them by exploring or completing sections of the expanded Delves.
The exact effects of all four enhancements are also subject to change while Patch 12.1.5 remains on the PTR.
Labyrinths Will Expand the Delve Experience
The glove enhancements are arriving alongside one of the biggest additions to the Delve system in Patch 12.1.5.
The update will introduce Labyrinths, significantly larger Delve experiences designed to be completed at the player’s own pace. Rather than functioning as a short, one-off activity, these expanded Delves are intended to provide a longer progression experience for solo players and small groups.
The first Labyrinth will be the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan, which will also feature a Nemesis boss and its own Hall of Fame achievement for players who manage to defeat the final boss solo during the first week.
This makes the new enhancements particularly relevant for players planning to push the highest levels of Labyrinth content.
Enhancements May Be Limited to Season 2 Gear
One interesting detail discovered in the PTR data is that the new enhancements currently cannot be applied to items above item level 334.
That restriction would prevent players from applying them to some higher-level pieces, including the item level 344 Grasps of the Eternal Shadow from Mythic Coiled Altar and the upcoming Aberrant Commander’s Gauntlets associated with Kith’ix.
However, this restriction could simply be a temporary PTR limitation or an oversight. Another possibility is that Blizzard intends the enhancements to work specifically with Midnight Season 2 gear.
Until Blizzard provides more information, it remains unclear whether the current item-level restriction will remain in the final version of Patch 12.1.5.
More Progression for Delve Players
The addition of specialized glove enhancements suggests Blizzard is continuing to expand Delves as a significant progression path in World of Warcraft.
With Labyrinths offering a larger-scale version of the activity and new equipment enhancements potentially providing additional power inside Delve content, Patch 12.1.5 could give solo and small-group players more ways to develop their characters outside traditional raid and Mythic+ progression.
For now, however, players should treat the glove enhancements as PTR datamined content rather than confirmed final features. Blizzard could change their effects, acquisition methods, item-level restrictions, or remove them entirely before Patch 12.1.5 reaches live servers.
