Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the WoW Classic 2024 roadmap and here is everything you need to know about it!
Big news, gamers! Blizzard just spilled the beans on what’s in store for World of Warcraft in 2024.
They’ve got a plan for both the regular version (Retail) and the throwback version (Classic).
Let’s dive into the details of the upcoming expansions – The War Within for regular WoW and Cataclysm Classic for the nostalgia-filled WoW Classic.
WoW Classic 2024 roadmap: Dragonflight’s Story Continues
In the Retail WoW world, prepare for three updates before The War Within hits the scene.
This Winter and Spring 2024, expect epic endings for the Dragon Isles, a new season for PvP and Mythic+, and a surprising addition – pirates in update 10.2.6.
Once Spring kicks in, The War Within alpha starts, setting the stage for the big launch in the summer.
This upcoming patch brings cool stuff like Dynamic Flight, Warbands, and more, as announced in the WoW Classic 2024 roadmap.
The War Within: Coming in Summer or Fall
As summer approaches, The War Within expansion takes the spotlight. It’s expected to drop towards the end of Summer or the start of Autumn.
While the exact dates are still up in the air, word on the street is we might see it in August or September. Exciting times ahead for World of Warcraft!
WoW Classic’s Journey: Cataclysm Classic
But wait, there’s more in the WoW Classic 2024 roadmap! WoW Classic is also getting a facelift with the Cataclysm Classic expansion, set to kick off in early summer, around June.
Before that, the Season of Discovery gets three updates. The first one hits in Winter 2024 and brings a level cap boost to 40, new runes, raids, and a bunch of other cool stuff.
And don’t forget WoW Classic Hardcore’s Self-Found Mode, announced at BlizzCon 2023 – that’s coming in Spring 2024.
Keep in Mind: Things Might Change
While we’re pumped about this roadmap, it’s worth noting that the lack of specific dates means things could shift around.
Game development is a bit unpredictable, you know?
So, as we wave goodbye to 2023, get ready for a wild ride through Azeroth.
