Every year Riot Games releases a new skin to mark the arrival of the Worlds tournament. With Worlds 2021 right around the corner, Riot Games has given fans the first sneak peek of this year’s Worlds skin.
For this year’s Worlds tournament, Riot Games has decided to pick Jarvan IV as the candidate for its official skin. While Jarvan IV already has plenty of skins, there is a good reason why he was chosen for this event. Riot Games made it clear that they want to choose champions that have had a profound impact on the game.
Although some might disagree with Riot Games’ decision to pick Jarvan IV for Worlds skin, the mighty champion has featured in all kinds of professional, competitive, and casual play this year. However, Riot Games is also changing the skin line with this year’s Worlds skin.
For the past Worlds events, Riot Games has released skins in the Championship line for these events. Champions like Leblanc and Thresh have received the Championship skin in the past, but with this year’s Worlds, Riot Games is officially halting the Championship skin line; instead, they are introducing a new Worlds skin line with the same name.
The official price of the new Worlds Jaravan IV is yet to be confirmed, but expect it to be around 1350 RP. Furthermore, new events with exclusive rewards pertaining to Worlds 2021 should make its way into the game soon.
Worlds 2021 was originally supposed to take place in China but has been moved to Iceland now due to travel restrictions and COVID protocols. The entire tournament will be held in Reykjavík’s Laugardalshöll Indoor Sporting Arena with no live audience. This is a huge disappointment for global fans that were eagerly waiting to see the event live, but with pandemic persisting, the step was necessary. Regardless, the entire event will be live-streamed on different platforms, including Twitch and YouTube.
