Wild Rift has just released a new casual game mode in patch 4.4a, along with an event and a pass. Wild Rift Arena is a 2v2v2v2 mode, where each player will be placed in teams of two where they will then duke it out in a series of duels in different arenas on each map.
This game mode first appeared on PC League of Legends during the Soul Fighter event, but now it has some new features related to the members of the HeartSteel band available on Wild Rift.
In this guide, we will show you all the peculiarities present in the Wild Rift version of Arena and how to make the most of the event.
Overview of Wild Rift Arena
The Arena mode in Wild Rift is a casual, fast and simple mode, even more so than Aram. Therefore, players do not need to choose runes and the preparation phase is only for choosing champions.
After entering the game queue and accepting the match, two players are placed together and share a pool of nine random champions to choose from. Neither is it possible to choose runes nor the summoner spells are fixed in Flash and Ghost.

Once the match starts, the players find themselves in a “lobby” where the teams can interact with each other. Basically, it is possible to attack the opponents before each round begins. This can help to notice the difference of the builds and Augments that are being accumulated with the passing of the rounds. As well as it is possible to keep an eye on what the opponents are building and which Augments they are choosing.
In each round, the players receive gold to buy items or an Augment to be chosen. The Augment rounds always present three options for the players with a reroll available per selection.
The dueling rounds take place by putting two pairs to face each other on small maps. As time passes, the area of the maps gets smaller à la Battle Royale, with a circle that causes damage to those who are outside it. The winning teams deal damage to the losers and all the survivors go to the next round. Only the pair that still has life at the end of each round wins.

Augments in Wild Rift Arena
With a design similar to TFT, the Augments are extra effects granted to the champions at determined intervals of rounds.
The Augments in Wild Rift Arena can appear with many different effects. From granting the blue and red buffs or Draconic Souls to the champions, to effects like exploding the first champion that dies per round to cause a large amount of damage. Each one of them has a category tag to help in the moment of choice.
Without a doubt, the Augments have the greatest potential for fun and replayability of the Arena mode in Wild Rift. In addition to a good combination of champions, the synergy between Augments can make the difference in the victory of a team.

New Features in Wild Rift Arena
In its Wild Rift version, the Arena mode has some major changes. Each one of them adding particularity during the team fights.
Arcane Sweeper
The trinkets of all players are replaced by Arcane Sweeper. The item brought from the missed Twisted Treeline grants vision over an area for a few seconds before going into a thirty-second cooldown. Depending on the champions on each side, a privileged vision of the opponents can make all the difference.
Health Bloom
There are two plants that appear on the Wild Rift Arena maps. One of them is already known by the players, the Blast Cone. The novelty is the Health Bloom, white flowers that can heal and grant shield to those who attack them.
Their healing effect is extremely powerful and precious in a mode of intense and fast fights. Each one of them starts with three health and each champion attack deals one damage. Thus, the same champion can heal up to three times by attacking one of them.
Spectate Mode
The players can spectate the battles of the other pairs after the end of their own. Although the spectate mode still presents some problems, mainly in relation to the distance from the arena, it is an interesting feature for the Arena in Wild Rift.

Members of Heartsteel
Each battle round can contain one of the members of Heartsteel available on Wild Rift as a scenery element that changes the battle conditions. Here is a list of them and their effects.
- Yone: Yone’s shadows are available near the center of the map and the player who touches it activates Soul Unbound, Yone’s ability that makes his soul advance for a few seconds before returning to the body dealing damage to enemies that were hit during that time.
- Ezreal: An Ezreal appears in the center of the map. For every three rune treasures picked up, he casts his ultimate at the other team.
- Kayn: Each team receives an npc companion, Darkin and Shadow Assassin. Both will fight each other and against the opposing team. They can be defeated.
- Sett: The players can deal damage to a Sett in the center of the map. Attacking him makes him move in the direction of the enemy team. When Sett reaches zero health he punches the opposing team.
