Opening cases is a focal part of the CS:GO experience. Ever since the release of the game a decade or so ago, CS:GO skins have changed the way customisation and microtransactions work in gaming, with the likes of Apex Legends, Call of Duty and (naturally) VALORANT all copying the way the game’s cases work in the industry.
And, with some skins probably worth more than the PC this author is playing on, winning big with these cases is a seriously momentous (albeit extremely rare) occasion. With that being said, check out Gamelevate as we go through which CSGO is best to open in 2022 for those looking for the best opportunities of lining their pockets.
Danger Zone Case
The Danger Zone patch was one of the biggest updates CS:GO has received in modern times, bringing with it the game’s first ever battle royale game mode. It also brought with it some beautiful skins in its cases. There’s a metallic, greyish sort of theme to a lot of the weapons on offer here, with the M4A4 | Magnesium and Desert Eagle | Mecha Industries being two highlights.
Horizon Case
Undoubtedly the case to go to for players who love some bright neon colours on their skins, the Horizon Case was first introduced in August 2018. The highlight here is easily the AK-47 | Neon Rider, a weapon we still see T-sided pro players using even in 2022.
Operation Broken Fang Case
Operation Broken Fang took everyone by surprise (in a good way) when it dropped in May 2021. As well as a new competitive map, the operation delivered some of the finest sets of gloves we’ve ever seen, alongside the likes of the M4A1-S | Printstream, M4A4 | Cyber Security and USP-S | Monster Mashup.
Prisma Case
In terms of vibrancy in designs and standing within the community, the Prisma Case sure takes some beating. The Desert Eagle | Light Rail, AWP | Atheris, and M4A4 | The Emperor – all absolute gems in weapon designs we’ve seen from any FPS title over the years.
CS20 Case
Released in October 2019 to commemorate Counter-Strike’s twentieth anniversary, CS20 is still the best CSGO case to open in 2022.
For both nostalgia and in terms of how much variety there is in the styles on offer with these cases, CS20 is about as close as you can come to bagging a good ‘un every time. Highlights here include the MP9 | Hydra, AWP | Wildfire and legendary FAMAS | Commemoration.
