Fortnite IO guards are still operating on the island, however, they’re more difficult to find in Season 8 due to the events of Operation: Sky Fire, which forced them to flee their old bases. You could previously count on encountering them at Fortnite satellite stations, but those have either been damaged or abandoned. Instead, The Imagined Order has now built up a new set of IO outposts, locations of which we will discuss in this guide.
Fortnite Season 8 IO Guard Locations
The IO has abandoned its monitoring stations in favor of new outposts, and there are just five IO outposts for now. However, it’s possible that the IO may increase their presence as the season progresses. Here’s where you can find them:
IO Outpost Location #1: An IO outpost overlooks the shore halfway between Dirty Docks and Steamy Stacks.
IO Outpost Location #2: Just to the east of Pleasant Park, there is a small outpost.
IO Outpost Location #3: To the east of the Aftermath POI, there is an IO outpost located near the s-shaped bend in the road.
IO Outpost Location #4: There is an IO base in the mountain range to the south of Misty Meadows. Players should be able to find this base near the “Destined Dish” landmark.
IO Outpost Location #5: This last IO Base is located south of Holly Hedges, with two IO guards patrolling the area at all times.
While these small outposts will offer IO guards to take down, a speedy IO car, and a few chests, they don’t seem to offer IO tech weapons. However, those weapons are still on the map this season, but are quite difficult to come across. There are a variety of reasons you could be looking for these secret operatives. Sometimes you are tasked with defeating an entire squadron of them or simply visiting their bases, especially if you are completing the Charlotte punch card.
