Fifa 23 is right on the horizon, and it’s safe to say anticipation has been ramping up as more and more reveals for the game have been teased by EA. But, whilst we’ve already talked about the revamped testing and technologies that will be in the game, there’s been one revelation that has left plenty of Fifa fans slightly stunned. Play As Your Favourite Managers In Fifa 23
Despite being one of the most popular game modes in the series, Career Mode has consistently been one of the most neglected parts of Fifa over the years. But, in an attempt to shake things up ahead of Fifa 23, EA have revealed that players will have the chance of playing as some of the world’s best managers this year.
This new feature will allow players to use the likeness of managers such as Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Thomas Tuchel, and Antonio Conte, allowing them to customize their outfits and personalities and even which clubs they play for.
Speaking about the feature, EA claimed:
“We’ve seen feedback from players wanting to play as some of their favourite managers, and we’re happy to say FIFA 23 enables you to play as one of the 350+ authentic football managers, of which 30+ have star heads, in Career Mode.
What Else Will Fifa 23 Career Mode Have?
On top of the reveal that players will be able to take Jurgen Klopp to Chelsea, EA have announced a number of other additions to career mode that also sound interesting.
Playable Highlights is a new simulation mode that will allow players to skip through seasons and only digest the moments that really make a difference to their campaigns. The Sim-to-End and Interactive Simulations introduced in previous editions will still be present, however, this will give players a different alternative to go with.
Dynamic Moments is a new cinematic system introduced in Fifa 23’s Career Mode that will capture specific moments over the course of a player’s campaign. This has already begun to worm its way into the series with the manager and player negotiation scenes but will be expanded on this year with expanded scenes for breaking into a starting eleven, selling a key figure of a club, or making a marquee signing.
Players will be able to customize a team’s third and goalkeeping kits.
Finally, there will be a new personality system introduced in Fifa 23 that will impact how your player behaves on and off the pitch. Decisions like visiting injured teammates will impact the sort of personality your pro player has, and will hopefully provide a more immersive experience. Speaking about the update, EA said:
“An upgraded evaluation engine collects and analyses your actions to inform your personality, with post-match summaries and off-pitch actions including spending the funds you earn from your wages and investments unlocking new opportunities, boosting select attributes, and making each Player Career playthrough different from the next.”
