The Valorant team has revealed the sixteenth agent in the lineup, a radianite-fueled robot with an ability-disabling kit. The agent is set to release alongside the newest episode and battle pass of the game.
Marking one year since the game’s release, the newest agent and episode for Valorant has been officially revealed. The sixteenth agent in the lineup will feature the radiant-destroying killer robot KAY/O, an agent who’s toolkit completely disables other agents’ abilities. KAY/O is set to release on the game’s first year anniversary, which includes the new “Give Back Bundle” featuring old weapon skins like the Vandal’s Reaver skin.
Agent Abilities
The sixteenth agent KAY/O is a new initiator-type agent equipped with one of the more unique ability spreads in the game. KAY/O’s tool and ability kit revolve around neutralizing enemy abilities, forcing enemy agents to rely only on gun skill. KAY/O’s FLASH/DRIVE Q ability gives him a flash grenade for site-entry, while his FRAG/MENT C ability gives players an explosive and fragmented stick grenade that can damage or eliminate enemy agents. According to the update notes for the character’s abilities, the FRAG/MENT grenade is stronger at the center, dealing less damage based on agent proximity to the explosion. KAY/O’s ultimate ability, NULL/CMD, sends out pulses of energy that disable enemy agents’ abilities and provide him with a combat stim similar to Brimstone’s. While in his ultimate, KAY/O can be revived by teammates if he is killed during his destabilized state of the ability, giving KAY/O a second chance like Phoenix.
Episode 3 Teaser and Upcoming Content
Following the release of Breeze in the last chapter of Valorant, the newest Episode 3 of the game will feature the new agent KAY/O, a new battlepass, and a plethora of other content and large updates to be added as the season progresses. Included in the battlepass are a plethora of new themed skins for almost every current weapon in the game, and a new melee weapon. The update will also include slight adjustments for the weapon prices for the in-game shop that agents purchase weapons and abilities from mid-match. The newest episode of Valorant is set to release on June 22nd, along with the game’s one year anniversary celebration.
