It’s here, and gamers want to unlock 2XKO characters fast for online matches.
Riot Games’ tag fighter has hit PC early access, letting players bout it out.
But as a free-to-play fighter, what is the catch price tag, and is it worth grinding out?
How To Unlock 2XKO Characters
Firstly, the big two ways to unlock 2XKO characters are through premium or free currency. Because in the game you got KO points, Champion Tokens and Credits.

KO points are the bog-standard premium currency that cost real-life dosh to get. With this you can buy champions, skins, taunts and everything locked. Meanwhile, Champion tokens are one-off coins that are just used to unlock champs.
However, starting an account, you will get one champion token for free. Meaning you get to unlock 2XKO characters apart from Darius, Yasuo, Ekko, Ary, Braun and Allio. Since those ones are already free to begin with.
Although the free option is the credits which you earn by completing daily, weekly and monthly missions along with combo trials and tutorials. But as expected, the amount of credits you need to unlock something vs. KO points is quite a bit higher.
Because to unlock a full champ with credits will cost you 10000 credits. Meanwhile, KO coins will only cost 1000 for the same champ. But pricing-wise it’s a bit naughty going the KO coins route.

To unlock 2XKO characters, you need at least 1k coins, which cost $9.99. You can grab 500 KO coins for 5 bucks, 2200 for 20 bucks, 4500 for 40 bucks, 6800 for 60 bucks and finally 11500 for 100 bucks!
In summary, each champion costs 10 dollars! Although that seems fine for just a one-off champ, if you were to buy all via KO coins, that’s 40 dollars for the locked guys.

Also keep in mind they plan to release 5 characters per year, and buying them does not unlock stages.
Riot In My Wallet
Although it may seem costly to unlock 2XKO characters, I am not so mad about this model. Because yeah, I would prefer all of them to be free or cheaper. However, unlocking them just lets you play them online.

I can just play them offline, in training or even run their combo trials. Compared to fully paid games like SF6 or Tekken 8 that lock DLC characters from even training mode, this is good.

Because I am not going to rage about Warwick beating my ass since I can lab him for free. And if I really wanted to try him out, I could play with my make-believe friends offline. Meanwhile, the credits themselves are not too steep of a climb to get so far.
I have been playing for 3 days for a few hours and already have 5k credits to spend. With enough savings for a week odd, you could unlock 2XKO characters fairly reasonably. However, that is just for that season since the missions and battle pass reset.

There are, of course, the bundle options that give 4 champ tokens and more for standard retail pricing. However, it appears that you are not really handicapped in any way for playing the game for free. Sure, skins might take a while, but they are just skins that look pretty.
Also with new character seasons there will be mission routes that can unlock 2XKO characters. These may require a bit more grind, but they will gift you the new champ at the end for free! Let’s just hope it’s not as naff as the Multiverse’s routes.
Also, when is Sett coming out? I have waited long enough and demand my main be let free from his LOL cage.
