UBOAT, the realistic submarine simulator from Polish studio Deep Water Studio, is officially heading to consoles. The game will launch on Xbox Series X|S on August 27, 2025, followed by a PlayStation 5 release on September 17, 2025.
Already a hit on PC with nearly one million copies sold, UBOAT is often called the spiritual successor to the Silent Hunter series. It blends detailed submarine simulation with crew management mechanics similar to Fallout Shelter. On Steam, the game holds an 84% positive rating from more than 22,500 reviews.
A New Home for UBOAT
UBOAT first launched on PC in August 2024 after leaving Early Access. The console versions are being published by Ultimate Games S.A. On consoles, the game runs at 1080p resolution. It targets 60 FPS on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and 30 FPS on Xbox Series S.
Become a Wolf of the Deep
Set in an open-world World War II environment, UBOAT places players in command of a German U-boat. Missions draw inspiration from real historical events. Gameplay goes far beyond navigation and combat, players must manage every aspect of crew life. Keeping morale high, maintaining resources, and making tactical decisions are just as important as sinking enemy ships.
Success rewards players with upgrades and new abilities for their submarine. The game emphasizes realism with detailed systems such as historic torpedo calculators, Earth’s curvature on the horizon, and ballast management across compartments. A deep damage system adds survival mechanics, creating a constant sense of tension.
