“Trouble Fetching Information” is a bug that seems to happen to us all at some point, and sadly, it is a regular issue within the League of Legends player base, But don’t worry, we’ve got every way you can fix this bug and get back into your ranked games as quickly as possible!
The bug stops us players from queueing for not only ranked games of League of Legends, but normal games too!
The exact message players get is “Trouble fetching information for this player (Error: 5C). Affected players should quit and log back in if this persists.”

More often than not, if the issue is bigger than just this bug, Riot Games will make the player base aware with a notification in the top left of the League of Legends client, in the form of a colored exclamation point.
This implies that a simple restart of the League of Legends client will do the trick and fix the issue, but you know as well as we do that this is not always the case, so what can you do?

How to fix the Trouble Fetching Information League of Legends Bug
Restart your internet
This bug seems to be internet-based, so resetting your router or internet box is the first step, and this might work by itself! We recommend just turning your box off entirely, rather than disconnecting from the Wi-Fi on your computer.
This allows the League of Legends system to completely disconnect, and when your internet comes back online, it can have a fresh connection!
Test another League of Legends account
We know you have smurf accounts, so you can smurf in Bronze rather than your main account rank of Gold! Well, if your hard-stuck main account is having trouble fetching information, why not try your smurf?
What this does is allow you to tell if the issue is account-based or more generalized. If you can log in and queue for games successfully on another League of Legends account, then you know your main account is the issue.
If not, then you can try a couple more things!
Check online for any issues

This is simple, as you’ve figured out that a restart of your Wi-Fi doesn’t work, and it isn’t happening on just one account. The best thing to do from here is to look online to see if there are any issues.
By issues, we mean checking the Riot Support website, X, or even Reddit to find some news about your server, or even your location having connection issues!

Use League of Legends’ Hextech Repair Tool

This is probably your last resort, as it is the biggest way to try and fix this issue and requires the most amount of commitment.
You need to download the League of Legends Hextech Repair Tool, and it will create a folder you can upload to a ticket with Riot Games Support, and hopefully they’ll be able to fix the issue, or at least tell you what is going on!
