The highly anticipated Three Musketeers Rework has finally arrived in Clash Royale for Season 77 (November 2025). With fresh mechanics, revamped stats and design, this update aims to breathe new life into a card that seemed forgotten for many months.
Here’s an in-depth look at what’s changed, why it matters, and how you can adapt.
Why the Triple Musketeer Rework?
Once a dominant archetype, the Three Musketeers deck saw its numbers collapse in recent seasons. While Three Musketeers boasted a high win rate in specific challenges, they were nearly unbalanced.

In short, Supercell’s design team faced a dilemma. How to keep the classic “three Musketeers” flavour, yet give them enough distinct identity so they could evolve independently? The answer, a full card rework rather than simple number tweaks.
What the Triple Musketeer Rework changes
New unit: Elite Musketeers
With the update, the Three Musketeers card no longer simply deploys three regular Musketeers. Instead, it now spawns three Elite Musketeers, a brand new troop class with their own stat profile.
The key differences:
- HP increased: Elite Musketeer HP = 883 vs original Musketeer HP = 721. This is around +22 %.
- Ranged damage per hit slightly lower: 204 vs 217 (–6 %). Hit time slower: 1.2 s vs 1.0 s, meaning DPS drops approximately 22 %.
- Range remains the same (6.0 tiles). Speed unchanged.
- New melee mechanic: If a ground target approaches within 1.6 tiles, the Elite Musketeer switches to a bayonet melee attack dealing 314 damage (262 DPS), which is about 28 % more than the normal Musketeer’s DPS.
Aesthetic & descriptive overhaul
The card also gains a new art and description. The old description:
“Trio of powerful, independent markswomen, fighting for justice and honor. Disrespecting them would not be just a mistake, it would be a cardinal sin!”

The new description:
“An elite trio of powerful, independent markswomen with perfectly coiffed helmets and bayoneted boomsticks. They slash, shoot, and slay in the name of justice and honor.”
So visually and flavour-wise, the rework signals a new identity for the card.
Balance implications
Perhaps the most significant aspect, the rework decouples the Three Musketeers from sharing stats with the regular Musketeer card. Previously any buff or nerf to Musketeer risked impacting 3M decks and vice versa. By creating a separate troop class, Elite Musketeers, future balance becomes far more flexible.
In fact, post-rework balance changes show the ripple effect, for example, the Elixir Collector’s production speed and lifetime were nerfed partly because of the increased usage rate of the reworked Three Musketeers.
How the Triple Musketeer Rework changes playstyle and strategy
A fresh mindset
Players who used the Three Musketeers deck before will need a mental shift. Instead of relying purely on ranged DPS and spreading out the three Musketeers, you now have to factor in the melee potential when they engage at close range. That dual-mode behaviour, ranged to melee, adds a layer of tactical depth.
Also, since DPS as ranged units is lower, they are less efficient solely as ranged glass cannons. The strength comes when they push and engage in melee range or are supported cleverly.
Deck building implications
- Because the Elite Musketeers have higher HP, pairing them with support spells or tanks may yield stronger pushes
- However, their slower attack rate makes them less effective when left alone in purely ranged roles, protecting them from distractions or spawners becomes more important
- Considering their melee fallback, they become more versatile in mixed ground engagements
- Since the Elixir Collector was nerfed in response, the traditional “build up big push via Collector then drop 3M” path is weaker, players must lean more into tempo, value trades and smart deployment
- Also, opponents expecting the old 3M behaviour will need to adapt, Elite Musketeers may survive counter spells better due to their HP boost, but their lower ranged DPS means a slightly slower grind
Will the Triple Musketeer Rework make them meta-worthy again?
It’s too early to declare them meta-breaking, but the rework lays solid groundwork. By giving the card its own stat identity, the developers have unlocked future balancing possibilities. That alone is a significant win for fans of the card.
On the flip side, challenges remain, the card still costs 9 Elixir, same as before, and remains a high-risk, high-reward play. If opponents have the right counters, spells, splash, swarm, the push can still falter.

So while usage might grow, they won’t automatically dominate, success will come to players who adapt to the new mechanics and build around them.
Tips for mastering the reworked Three Musketeers
- Watch positioning carefully: Since melee triggers at 1.6 tiles, avoid dropping them where they’ll get stunned or baited. Use support to bait counters or create space
- Support push wisely: Because ranged DPS is lower, guard their attack with a tank or distraction. Use splash or swarm answers behind them
- Exploit the HP boost: Elite Musketeers can survive damage longer, consider value trades where they absorb counter damage while your other win-condition trades in
- Adapt deck tempo: With Elixir Collector nerfed, go for smarter cycle and tempo decks rather than purely reactionary builds
- Expect counters: High Elixir cards like this invite counterplays. Keep a contingency plan, spells, swarm, building, ready to protect your investment
In summary, the Triple Musketeer Rework gives one of Clash Royale’s iconic cards a second chance. With entirely new troop stats, a dual-mode melee and ranged mechanic and an independent balance path, they’re now positioned to become a more viable and more fun option.
If you’re a 3M fan, now is the time to revisit your decks, test the new identity and discover the strategic possibilities anew.
