Junkrat is a hero beloved by many for his fun playstyle. So naturally, everyone wants to know the top 3 Junkrat counters in Overwatch 2. With the hero’s popularity, he is played so frequently that many players are forced to find these counters or face the consequences.

Widowmaker

D.Va

When it comes to tanks, D.Va is absolutely one of the top 3 Junkrat counters in Overwatch 2. 

Her first huge strength is her Defense Matrix. Everyone already knows it’s a broken ability, but a good D.Va knows when to use it to its maximum potential.

If she can get up close, use Matrix, and eat all of Junkrat’s attacks, he will be out of momentum and can easily be taken out with a barrage of Fusion Cannons or Micro Missiles.

Since she is a frontline fighter, the fact that she can dish out that damage makes her a huge threat.

This means that Junkrat will probably be waiting for the right time to attack so he isn’t caught off guard. But the great thing about D.Va is that she will always have the advantage. 

As long as she has a proper team behind her, Junkrat will never have an optimal window to attack back. With Matrix having a fairly short cooldown, it means that D.Va can always have something to progress her team forward. 

And let’s not forget about her Boosters. Junkrat’s Rip-Tire can spell immediate death for almost any hero, and being able to escape its radius means D.Va can live to see another fight.

Allowing her to hold down an objective until her teammates come back for revenge. It also has the added bonus of hunting him down in the case he tries to escape with his Concussion Mine jumps.

Baptiste

Finally is our support, Baptiste, who is on this list for some great reasons. 

First is his Biotic Launcher, the hero’s bread and butter. Similar to Widow, he likes to keep his distance, so he is pretty safe from a Junkrat attack.

He usually has free roam on the backline to attack Junkrat from a distance and heal allies. But Junkrat can deal a lot of damage, which is something to watch out for. However, Baptiste can not only heal back most of the damage done to his team, but can also dish some damage out himself. This can deter an enemy Junkrat from getting too close to Bapsiste or allies. 

Another huge key to this puzzle is his Immortality Field. Junkrat’s Rip-Tire is usually a game ending ultimate, since it can easily KO multiple targets at once.

But with a well-timed Field, that ability is completely negated and Bap’s team can bounce back for a win.
