3: Veigar Event Horizon
Whilst you might have come into this article and thought that all three abilities would be ultimates, you are wrong!
Veigar’s Event Horizon, otherwise known as his E, is one of the best abilities for CCing enemies in the game! It is a large AOE stun circle that stuns for 3 seconds, meaning you can trap enemies in the cage and hit your AOE abilities in the meantime!
This has a huge range of 725, so as a mage who wants to poke, Veigar doesn’t have to get too close to enemies that might want to hurt him. it also goes down to a 14-second cooldown at rank 5 – without any Ability Haste!

2: Malphite Unstoppable Force
While we think it is cheeky to add this in as an immobilizing ability, it is too good not to! With Malphite at the top of the pecking order in Top Lane right now, this ability has even more of an impact in games.
It allows our giant rock monster to fly towards enemies without being able to be CCed himself, causing massive AOE damage and a massive AOE knockup too!

Our gold medalist for the best CC and immobilizing ability in the game is Amumu’s ultimate! The sad mummy has a massive AOE stun, which is instant, and causes enemies to be stunned for 1.5 seconds.
The range on it is 550, which is big enough for Amumu to jump into the middle of a team fight and stun the whole enemy team! With a base cooldown at level 5 of 100 seconds, Amumu will have this every team fight late game!
