There are plenty of Ashe counters in Overwatch 2, but which ones are the best? Many players ask themselves this question, but may have trouble answering it themselves. With a good handful of heroes to choose from, it may be difficult to find just a few that can go up against her.
With abilities like B.O.B. and her powerful Viper, she can be incredibly oppressive from short and long distances. However, there are absolutely heroes that can withstand her barrage of attacks. So to help players find these counters, Gamelevate will give you one hero from each role (DPS, Tank, and Support) to take into your next game against Ashe.
Genji is a hero that gets a bad rap for his annoying playstyle and high maneuverability. He might be difficult to properly play, but when used correctly he can be a menace. Especially to a hero like Ashe.
First, his Cyber-Agility lets him climb walls and double jump. This allows Genji to easily get to those high positions only snipers can get to. That, combined with his Swift Strike, he can easily close gaps that snipers try to put between themselves and the heat of battle. Even if Ashe is fighting in close range, Genji can use these same abilities to get around her Coach Gun or Dynamite.
Another great ability Genji has against Ashe is his Deflect. For just fighting Ashe, he can use it when she tries to empty out her Viper at rapid speed to take out a low-health enemy. But for fighting B.O.B., Deflect works even better. Using it at just the right time while attracting aggro, Genji can negate most of B.O.B. ‘s attack and usually kill him in the process.
Because of all this, Genji is absolutely one of the top 3 Ashe counters in Overwatch 2.
As far as tank heroes go, Sigma is without a doubt one of the top 3 Ashe counters in Overwatch 2. Not only does his incredibly tanky nature make him hard to kill, but his strong damage at close range and powerful defenses allow him to withstand many of Ashe’s abilities and still stay alive to protect his team.
First is Sigma’s Experimental Barrier. While it may work with all snipers, it works just as well with Ashe. By setting up the barrier right in front of a key sniper perch, Sigma can force Ashe to relocate or waste time attacking through the shield. This gives him and his team the chance to make an attack while the enemy is weak and get a good push on objectives.
More importantly, getting around Ashe’s B.O.B. is a huge deal. So, just like Genji’s Deflect, Sigma has a little combo of his own to get around Ashe’s B.O.B. ability. By using Kinetic Grasp first, then setting up his Barrier after Grasp is down, he can waste an entire B.O.B. attack. Not only that, but it gives Sigma enough bonus health to actually turn on the enemy team and push for an objective and clinch a win.
Picking a proper support into Ashe may be difficult, considering factors like other teammate or opponent picks. But 9 out of 10 times, picking Ana is the right choice when up against Ashe. She works well in this situation for many reasons, but with her long range, strong healing, and crowd control, she can easily take on this foe.
First, is Ana’s Biotic Rifle. The long range on this ability allows Ana to act as an extra sniper for her team to force Ashe off a strong position. It also allows her to sit far back while still healing allies. Letting her stay behind ally shields and still do everything else she needs to do.
Next is her crowd control, which is a massive part of her kit. Her Biotic Grenade allows her to heal multiple allies at once if they are under heavy pressure from Ashe. She can also use the same ability to push Ashe away from allies by giving her a healing negation debuff.
But most importantly is her Sleep Dart. While not always best used on Ashe herself, using it on her B.O.B. completely stops his attack and allows Ana and her team to push forward while ignoring what would otherwise be a game-changing ability.
With all this considered, Ana is certainly one of the top 3 Ashe counters in Overwatch 2.
The wrap up
The fun thing with Overwatch 2 is that many different heroes can work in the same situation. While there are many other factors to consider, these 3 heroes are well-known by the community to be some of the strongest, and most effective while going up against Ashe. That is why they all deserve to be on this list of the top 3 Ashe counters in Overwatch 2.
