With TI10 happening in less than a month from now, we take a look at the teams competing for Dota 2’s biggest event of the year. In this piece, we take a closer look at Vici Gaming, one of the oldest Chinese organizations who are still yet to get an Aegis for themselves; is TI10 finally the year with a new roster in tow?
Vici Gaming at TI10 – can this aging powerhouse finally get their first Aegis?
Roster:
- Yang “poyoyo” Shaohan (position 1)
- Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang (mid-laner)
- Ren “old eLeVeN” Yangwei (off-laner)
- Xiong “Pyw” Jiahan (soft support)
- Ding “Dy” Cong (hard support)
As one of the oldest Dota 2 organizations still active today, Vici Gaming has been through the game as it evolved. The organization’s roster also did, but for the most part Vici Gaming always fell short of that TI win despite boasting strong performances. TI10 could go either way for Vici Gaming, and it all falls in the hands of a relatively young roster that proved their salt in a lot of top-tier Chinese tournaments.
As for Majors. Vici Gaming achieved a decent fourth place finish during the AniMajors, but to go past that they have a long road ahead of them, especially if they want to snag that first Aegis.
Predictions:
Vici Gaming is the third Chinese seed of professional Dota 2, which, while decent compared to many regions, is still a big hurdle to clear if they want to make it far into TI10. The roster will have to step it up if they want to make it far into the whole tournament. This is not to say that they stand no chance, either, as the team is known for upsetting some major names in their appearances in Major tournaments.
The International 10 will run from October 7 to 17. Stay tuned for our coverage of Dota 2’s biggest event of the year.
