With TI10 happening in less than a month from now, we take a look at the teams competing for Dota 2’s biggest event of the year. In this piece, we take a closer look at Quincy Crew, North America’s number two seed looking for their shot at glory in TI10.
Quincy Crew at TI10 – can NA’s second seed prove themselves on The International stage?
Roster:
- Yawar “YawaR” Hassan (position 1)
- Quinn “Quinn” Callahan (mid-laner)
- Rodrigo “Lelis” Santos (off-laner)
- Arif “MSS” Anwar (soft support)
- Avery “SVG” Silverman (hard support)
Headlined by one of North America’s best mid-laners, Quincy Crew easily took the second DPC-reserved slot for the region for TI10 and fourth overall across all regions. Although they have not made that many appearances in Majors and big tournaments, having only been re-established for the ultimately cancelled 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit. While the eponymous Quinn is recognized as the team’s star player, Lelis, the off-laner, is also looking to prove himself as one of the best in the game in his first ever appearance at The International.
Predictions:
There are very few, if any, that are banking on Quincy Crew to lift the Aegis at TI10 this year, mostly because of just how stacked the overall competition is. That said, look for them to place somewhere higher in the standings, and it will be interesting to see them compete in the latest patch at the very least. They are currently one of the few competing teams who have not yet been seen playing on the latest patch, and until then it’s hard to speculate just how adaptive the young roster can be.
This does not mean that they do not have a chance to win TI10, though. The best they can hope for are good bracket and group placings, one that will hopefully see them avoiding the bigger teams on their way to the final stages.
The International 10 will run from October 7 to 17. Stay tuned for our coverage of Dota 2’s biggest event of the year.
