THE FINALS season 2 is out now, bringing a heap of updates to the popular shooter like new maps, new weapons and more.
As of March 14 2024, THE FINALS brings its explosive environmental destruction gameplay to the next level.

THE FINALS season 2: what’s new
The new map HORIZON is out now for season 2 of THE FINALS. With a daytime and night-time mode, players will get to appreciate the glitchy colorful city in different lighting.
There’s also the new Power Shift game mode. This casual 5v5 has two teams compete to escort a platform through the arena, all while it tears through everything in its way. Whichever team gets it across the finish line first wins.
Players can freely switch contestants on respawn. Since this mode has short respawn timers, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to mix it up.
This less intensive game mode can be a great way to ease in new players, much like the new tutorial mode in Monaco. It provides training and tutorials. This means new players can quickly learn the ropes, while established or returning players can hone their mechanics.
After all, there are now new weapons and equipment that players can practice in private.
The new weapons are:
- The FAMAS: a burst assault rifle for Medium builds with little damage drop-off at range
- 93R: a burst-fire handgun for Light loadouts designed for short-to-medium range with its 3-round burst
- KS-23: a stripped-down slug shotgun for Heavy builds that needs some precision and precision but can deal hefty damage.
Finally, the new equipment highlights the new CNS faction. This hacking collective is trying to upend control from the showrunners. As a result, there are some new toys that embody this disruptive group.
They are:
- Dematerializer: a new Medium specialization that temporarily erases one physical surface per charge, with up to three charges at once. Open walls, floors or ceilings to open up sightlines and pathways for your teammates, then close them once you’re done.
- Gateway: a pair of deployable linked portals for Light builds to increase mobility. Anyone can use a Gateway once deployed, but you can’t shoot or see through them. However, thrown items or projectiles can travel through them, although objectives like Cashout stations cannot.
- Anti Gravity Cube: a deployed cube for Heavy builds to boost mobility and disrupt enemies. A deployed cube turns off gravity in its immediate area, sending contestants and objects flying upwards. That said, remember to protect the cube: if it’s destroyed, the effect ends.

Battle Pass and system updates
THE FINALS season 2 battle pass has 12 pages with a total of 98 rewards. The theme is focused on gaming’s early years.
They’re also introducing a new reward progression path with the Career Circuit. This is a set of weekly contracts that players can complete for a reward. Completing the set will earn the player a sponsored prize.
There’s no time limit on completing a contract beyond finishing it within the season. However, players will have to wait for each circuit to unlock.
Additionally, completing a weekly set will also contribute to the Battle Pass progress.
Embark Studios is also updating the League ranked system. Players will receive their starting rank after their first eight matches, with most starting in the bronze to gold range. From there, players can rank up or down based on their wins and losses.
Finally, THE FINALS will now have the option for private matches. It’s a very barebones early implementation, but players can now organize matches for a minimum of six friends to play the Bank It or QuickCash game modes.
The League and private match systems are still in active development. THE FINALS is no stranger to bugs, so Embark asks for players’ patience and cooperation as they build and improve these features.
