Fans have caught wind of some TF2 Summer Update 2023 leaks!
While certain posts were left up on the Steam Workshop, fans caught wind of big changes.
Here is what to expect for the biggest Team Fortress 2 update in recent years…
SteamWorkshop TF2 Summer Update 2023 Leaks
Just recently, more information about the Team Fortress 2 summer update has been leaked via Steam’s platform.
Although it wasn’t long ago when Valve announced a “full-on update-sized update” back in early February,
This update in particualr is apparently going to include new items, maps, taunts, unusual effects, war paints, and other community-contributed fixes for the game.
However, thanks to a few misshaps from the TF2 mapping community, fans have grabbed some early intel revealing some changes coming to the game.

Steam Workshop Leaks King of the Hill Map Sharkbay
First is a leaked summer map called Sharkbay. This King of the Hill map was uploaded in 2021. But on the 23rd, it briefly appeared as fully uploaded and accepted by Valve and was then quickly hidden just after a few minutes.
This KOF map is set on the port of a villa focusing around a boat as the strongpoint. Players were quick to grab the map before being hidden and are even running playtests via private servers.
In addition to this map, there are now sharks that are fully modelled and integrated. These sharks roam the waters and will kill players if they get too close.
From what has been shown, the map looks both fitting for the TF2 style and hits the summer vibe of the update.
CP Steel Coming to the Competitive Pool
Secondly, the classic map page for CP Steel’s steam workshop received an update before being taken down quickly.
Some changes to the map itself were noticed, implying an overhaul to the layout.
The tags on the temporary post suggested that the map itself would be added to the competitive lineup.
While this means the competitive lineup will be increased, it also implies that we may see some more changes to the competitive mode of TF2 as a whole.
Possible Release Date Soon
Lastly, many workshop creators who have received emails from Valve confirming their submissions have hinted at a possible release date.
Some believe that the update may be released as early as July 5th.
But do keep in mind that none of this has been officially confirmed by Valve.
Many fans are expecting this update to be the biggest change to TF2 since the 2018 Blue Moon update.
Although TF2 was released over 15 years ago, the game still has over 100,000 players, according to Steam Charts.
Perhaps Valve will see a bigger influx of gamers returning to the iconic class-based multiplayer fps once the update launches.
