Bandai has hit us with a new Tekken 8 Victor Chevalier Reveal and fans are excited.
Not only is he a fresh face to the roster but his voice actor is a well known actor too.
But lets take a closer look at the French UN agent…
Tekken 8 Victor Chevalier Gameplay Reveal
On the apporach to the release to Tekken 8 Bandai has revealed another fighter to the roster. Although this time it is another original character new to the series.
Victor Chevalier is a living French legend who founded the UN’s independent forces. Descended from a lineage of distinguished knights with a dream to rescue those in need. He followed in the footsteps of his father and enlisted in the French Navy before joining the UN, following his will to save more people.
Victor Chevalier is voiced by famous French actor Vincent Cassel. He starred in the 1995’s Hate, before appearing in movies such as Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, Mesrine, Eastern Promises, Black Swan or It’s Only the End of the World.
His gameplay seems to utilise a variety of high-tech gadgets and gizmos. Closley, resembling Master Raven with his sword and boasting a gun as well, appears to be an in-between pick.
However, he also spouts tp and dash moves akin to Noctis from Tekken 7. His sword attacks seem to have a good amount of range. But what was most scary in the trailer was his quick low sweep, which looked a little too fast to predict.
His heat engage buffs his gadets causing more varied movesets and playstyles. Within the trailer it is hinted that him and Raven have some past with one another. It would be intersting to see how his role plays out in the overall story mode. But for a self proclaiming peace keeper he has not been doing a good job the past few titles.
Another interesting move was what appeard to be a high counter. Using his daggers he parries a high attack with a noticable sound and prolonged enemy stun. This parry opens stuns the opposing player for a fair few seconds leaving them open to massive punishment.
But we will have to wait and see for the rest of his specs and precious frame data. Hopefully his flashy combos come with some decent damage as well.
