We got Heihachi and the new Tekken 8 Update v1.08, adding brand new features!
But along with DLC, we are getting free contentfrom Bandai Namco, adding even more to the story?
How will the new patches tweak the gameplay, and is it worth returning to the story mode?
Tekken 8 Update v1.08
First, we have the main man himself resurrecting back on October 1st. However, some players will get early access on September 30th and dominate the ranks for 3 days!
Check out our Tekken 8 Heichachi guide for more details. Also just to mention, as I completely left out his DLC stack mechanic. Heihachi, like Eddie and Lydia, has a stack mechanic going up to three times buffing his moves and electrics. Certain moves and heat engages increase this stack.
Also coming along for paid DLC is the battle stage Genmaji Temple and a new Fighter Pass and Items.
But for the delicious price of 0 dollars, players will get the new Story episode, Nikke and Gentle Monster free cosmetics, and online practice via the loung along with Main Menu settings.
Honestly, the main menu peaks my interest as it now allows players to swap the menu character!
Players via the new setting can choose what fighter takes up the menu along with their alternative costumes. Although unfortunately, this does not include custom models.
Also, one huge improvement is coming to the ranked system overall. They have finally changed how ranked points in this Tekken 8 Update v1.08 patch. Now players beating higher-ranked players earn more points and lose less for losing.
Also, that strange fluctuation that happened if they were 4 above and below has been changed. This will make Ranked much more fun to climb as players are not punished for getting missmatched.
Before Tekken 8 Update v1.08, this was a big issue with ranking, to be honest. It is very disheartening to beat a blue as a red rank and get no points yet lose a ton if lost.
No Infinite Match Still
Unfortunately, Tekken 8 Update v1.08 will not be adding infinite rematches. So for those looking to actually learn a character or just keep playing, get ready for awkwardly restarting the lobby over and over again!
But on better news, the new Story episodes are coming in completely free! These are the Unforgotten Echoes episodes, which cover chapters happening during the main story.
Finally, players can see what Eddy was up to after his spat with Jin in 6, and Lydia is there too, I guess. But also we get to see Heihachi Mishima return to the spotlight and see what he has been doing.
I am going to say it here for the first time: this new DLC is going to be the best seller like it or not. Also, I am calling it Kazumi is coming back; I am locking in now. Heihachi has set the persident that fans buy quote on quote dead characters more than alive ones.
Plus, we have established now with Heihachi that no Tekken character is ever actually dead. Also expect Kumas dad to make a return, and Jinpachi, why don’t you?
Also expect some general game tweaks and fixes for Tekken 8 Update v1.08. Mainly nerfs for Dragunov and more buffs for the main man, Kazuya.
