But let’s take a look at what has changed for Brazilian fighter Eddy…
Tekken 8 Eddy Reveal and Details
As revealed during the Tekken Talk, Eddy is making his way back from the end of February to early March!
Eddy Gordo, the Capoeira fighter, will be made available to players soon. To get players hyped up, Bandai has released some gameplay bits showcasing the stylish moves he has under his belt.

For those new to Eddy, his movement will definitely throw some players off. This fighter is always stepping back and forth, even when idle. His footwork is not just for show but also for functionality.

Firstly, certain moves depend on what foot he is currently stepping into. Secondly, you are going to find out very quickly that certain moves will whiff. That down 2 you threw before, well, you know he is on backfoot and it whiffed, and your eating a full launch!
Needles to say those who are unaware of Eddy need to learn his matchup fast!
His handstand is now mobile, allowing him to move while in this stance.
Backdown 3 stance has been suped up, making it much quicker to switch out of and given 2 new moves.
Now he also has charge-ups and installs upon successful hellsweeps and manjingos. Akin to Asuka’s taunt install, now Eddy has this, giving him a slight boost and opening up more moves.

You can tell if Eddy is powered up by the counter below his health bar and whirlwinding on his feet.
A lot of people find Eddy a bit contentious, as he is infamous for being a pick-up and spam character for new players. But the developers are aware of this as well, showcasing that you can pull off his snazzy style easily by pressing the 4 button!

For those looking for a quick Eddy guide, just press 3 and 4 at random intervals!
Eddy Gordo
Eddy Gordo is a playable capoeira fighter within the Tekken series of fighting games. He made his debut in Tekken 3 and returned for all subsequent installments. He learned Capoeira from his master.
Eddy was born into one of the richest families in Brazil and was on track to inherit the family business. In Eddy’s late teens, his father was working to destroy Brazil’s drug cartel.
When Eddy was 19, he came home from school to find his father shot and dying. Eddy’s father told Eddy to falsely confess to killing him because prison would be the safest place for him now. Eddy obeyed his father’s last wish and was incarcerated.
After being released from jail, he caught wind of the iron fist torunament, which led to the events of Tekken 3. Eddy would join the tournament in the hopes that Mashima Zabatsu could assist his journey for revenge. Before signing up, he got the suggestion that the man responsible for his father’s death was Kazuya Mishima.

At some point, Eddy’s master gets deadly ill, and together with his master’s grandson Christie, they search for a cure. Up until Tekken 6, he joins Jin’s Mishima Zaibatsu, agreeing that Jin would help find a cure for his master.
Unfortunately, his master still ends up dying, and Eddy leaves the zaibatsu. During Tekken 7, he tries to take out Kazuya but instead gets into a fight with lucky Chloe!
We cannot wait to see what lies in store for Eddy in the upcoming story mode for him.
