This will give players the chance to try out the new mechanics via online and offline play. But, features like Tekken ball and story mode will not be playable.
Tekken Ball is Back
However, in bigger news to the franchise the beloved Tekken ball mode is finally back!
Tekken Ball is a minigame that first featured in Tekken 3. The mode returned in the Wii U edition of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and in Tekken 8. The aim of the minigame is to deplete the opponent’s health bar, either by landing the ball on the ground of the opponent’s half of the arena or striking the opponent with the ball.
Although absent for most of the mainline titles, many players both casual and competative love this extra mode.
From the gameplay reveal it still plays simillar to the original Tekken 3 debut. But know with the new heat system this may change thigs up.
Although some players are worried the heat mechanic will not add much to the game mode and maybe even be useless as dashing towards the ball after a hit will be mostly impossible.
Whether or not they also add Tekken Bowl back as later DLC as with Tekken 7 remains to be seen. But having this be available at launch is a great plus for everybody. This alone has sold many players on returning to Tekken.
Hopefully Tekken Ball will inlcude an online versus mode as well!
