T1 undefeated run in LCK continues as they took down Damwon 2-0. This was T1’s 11th straight win, and the team remains the only undefeated squad across every major region.
It’s fair to say T1 have been easily the best team in LCK and are heavy favorites to win the domestic title. After winning ten consecutive games, the team faced 2020 Worlds winner Damwon Gaming in a bo3 series.
Game 1 began with both teams trading kills. T1’s bot lane tried to take an aggressive approach in the early game, but a counter gank from Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu resulted in two kills for DK. Canyon continued to pressure bot lane, and DK slowly garnered some gold lead. However, the mid-game was very much in favor of T1 as their high-tempo playstyle was too much for DK to handle. Despite leading in kills for most of the game, DK never got footing after the early game. T1 won a fight near the Baron pit, allowing them to take down Baron Nashor. Ultimately, T1 pushed all lanes and convincingly closed the game.
Unlike Game 1, Game 2 was much closer. Both teams came gun blazing, and there were skirmishes right from the start. T1 landed early kills, which allowed them to secure multiple objectives. The lead only grew bigger, and it felt like the game was heading towards an easy victory for T1. However, a couple of misplays and poor macro from T1 in the mid-game resulted in a comeback for DK. It was a closely contested game, and it boiled down to an Elder Drake fight. DK managed to secure the Elder Drake, but T1 won the subsequent team fight. This was enough for T1 to crack DK’s base and destroy the bottom inhibitor. In the end, DK attempted to secure Baron Buff, but a relentless T1 marched in DK’s base and won the game.
