Anubis Gaming qualify for EMEA LCQ
Egyptian Valorant team, Anubis Gaming, has conquered the Strike Arabia Grand Finals to become the MENA region’s representative in the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier. Anubis Gaming will compete against seven EMEA teams for the final EMEA seat at Valorant Champions.
AB was a favorite to come out on top of the Strike Arabia season. They won all three of Stike Arabia’s Levant and North Africa events, solidifying their status as North Africa’s premier Valorant team. Moreover, the young Anubis Gaming roster is also Red Bull’s Campus Clutch World Champions.
How Anubis Gaming did it

The Strike Arabia Grand Finals match Anubis Gaming and its North African rivals, Team RA’AD. The best-of-five kicked off with a close 10-13 win for Team RA’AD on Haven. However, Anubis Gaming’s substitute Ayman “Tuna” Mossad rallied his team on Icebox with an impressive outing on Sage and took map 13-4.
The third map on Bind was just as closely contested as Haven, but Anubis Gaming edged their rivals out, winning 13-10. Then came Breeze, the latest addition to the competitive map pool. Both teams showed their grit, and the game even went to several overtime rounds. However, Anubis Gaming’s pedigree was decisive and earned them a 20-18 win to secure the Strike Arabia crown.
Meet Anubis Gaming
Mohamed “shalaby” Shalaby
Shalaby is Anubis Gaming’s talisman and main Jett player. On paper, he looks like MENA’s answer to Acend’s Mehmet Yağız “cNed” İpek or Envy’s Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker. Most impressive is the fact that shalaby has an ACS of 279 and a rating of 1.35. Expect him to be top fragging in any server.
Hazem “avez” Khaled
avez joined Anubis Gaming in March as the team’s secondary duelist. You’ll see him pick up Reyna or Jett, but with the current meta as it is, he’s also been regularly seen on Skye as well—just like shalaby. Be on the lookout for his pop flashes and secondary entries that make him a master at re-fragging.
Omar “chrollo” Hussein
Hussein is Anubis Gaming’s team captain (according to VLR.gg) and main controller player. Without his brain and composure in the pressure-filled environment of Valorant, Anubis Gaming would be lost. Prolific in meta controllers like Astra and Viper, expect intricate setups and strategies to come out of this young man.
Amr “fr0st” Mohamed
Calm, collected, and ready with mid-round calls is Anubis Gaming’s Sova-main, fr0st. While not a top-fragging duelist main, fr0st is the relentless and reliable player that Anubis Gaming leans on in times of struggle. Expect him to come out of any match with a positive KD and full of five-head plays to clip.
Ziyad “zizox” ElSawaaf
zizox is one of Anubis Gaming’s two sentinel mains on the roster. During Strike Arabia as Cypher or Kill Joy, and was a menace on defense. He’s got a dependable 181 ACS and 0.90 ratings, which his team has relied on throughout the season.
Ayman “Tuna” Mosaad
Mosaad is the definition of a “battle Sage” for Anubis Gaming. Though he’s been known to pick up Viper or Astra from time to time, the bastion from China is his main agent. Consistently finishing with an ACS of over 200 and a solid 25% headshot percentage, Tuna is lethal on any map.
Anubis Gaming will compete in the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier from October 10-17th. Their first matchup is against G2 Esports in the upper bracket quarterfinals.
