Activision decided to postpone the start of the fifth stage of the Call of Duty League to July 8.
CDL schedule changes
In January, officials clarified the schedule of this year’s Call of Duty League season and the latest regular-season stage was going to start on July 1. However, it has now been pushed back by a week. The cause of this matter has not been clarified in the announcement but the new schedule has been set as seen below.
Most of the qualified teams are set even though the regular season is not over yet. Still, we may see some surprises, especially among the lower seeds. The postponement may be disappointing for the fans but the teams will have an extra week to train before the action.
Who will qualify for the CDL Championship in 2021?
Atlanta FaZe, Dallas Empire, Toronto Ultra, New York Subliners and OpTic Chicago have teams so far, leaving three more spots open for the championship spots. Currently, Minnesota ROKKR, Los Angeles Thieves and Florida Mutineers hold these positions in the standings.
Stage 5 is the final stage of the regular season this year and once it comes to an end, the qualified teams will battle against for the CDL Championship title and their share of the $2.5 million prize pool. Atlanta FaZe are the favorites of the 2021 Call of Duty League season by far: Dallas Empire, Toronto Ultra and New York Subliners are seen as their closest challenges.
