Riot Games has officially brought Shotcall back for the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 1 Playoffs. The interactive Twitch feature returned on May 7 for VCT Pacific and VCT EMEA, with VCT Americas joining on May 14.
Shotcall first appeared during Masters Santiago and quickly became popular among competitive VALORANT fans. The system lets viewers answer live prediction questions during matches while earning points and climbing leaderboards.
The return comes at a major moment in the VCT season. Teams across Pacific, EMEA, and Americas are now fighting for qualification spots at Masters London.
Fans can access Shotcall directly through official Twitch broadcasts on desktop. Riot confirmed support for multiple regions and languages, including English, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Turkish, Thai, and Indonesian broadcasts.
Players can jump into the action through the official VCT Twitch channels, including VALORANT Esports Twitch and VCT Americas Twitch Channel.
How Shotcall Works
Using Shotcall is simple. Viewers hover over the Twitch video player and click the red Crystal Ball icon. From there, they connect their Riot account and begin answering prediction questions during live matches.
Questions appear throughout broadcasts and focus on gameplay moments, player performances, and match outcomes. Fans earn points for correct answers and move higher on the leaderboard.
Riot also introduced several improvements for this version of Shotcall. One major update allows viewers to change the feature’s language settings regardless of the broadcast language they are watching.
Previously, language support was locked to individual channels. That restriction has now been removed.
Riot also added audio cues so viewers do not miss prediction windows during hectic matches.
Stage 1 Playoffs Raise the Stakes
The timing of Shotcall’s return is no coincidence. Stage 1 Playoffs are among the most important events of the current VCT season.
Pacific and EMEA playoffs run from May 7 through May 17. Americas playoffs continue from May 14 through May 24.
The pressure is high across every region. Pacific remains packed with elite teams from South Korea and Southeast Asia, while EMEA continues to deliver unpredictable matchups. Americas also enters playoffs with massive expectations surrounding both North American and Brazilian organizations.
Every match now carries direct implications for Masters London qualification.
Riot appears focused on increasing viewer engagement during these high-pressure events. Shotcall gives fans another reason to stay invested during long playoff broadcasts.
Mystery Rewards Add More Incentive
Riot also announced special “Mystery Rewards” tied to Shotcall participation.
Fans can earn progress toward these rewards during the first four days of playoffs. The rewards themselves remain hidden until later in the tournament.
That strategy encourages viewers to keep returning throughout the event rather than watching only the biggest matches.
Additional information about the 2026 VCT season can also be found through the official VALORANT Esports website.
A Smart Move for Competitive Viewing
From Gamelevate’s perspective, Shotcall is one of Riot’s strongest fan engagement tools for VALORANT esports. Many competitive broadcasts still struggle to keep viewers fully engaged during slower moments between rounds or maps.
Shotcall solves that problem naturally by turning viewers into active participants.
The feature also fits VALORANT perfectly. Tactical shooters attract fans who already enjoy analyzing strategy, momentum shifts, and player decisions. Prediction systems build directly on that competitive mindset.
Riot continues pushing VALORANT esports beyond passive viewing. Features like Shotcall help make VCT broadcasts feel more interactive, competitive, and rewarding for fans watching live.
