Captain Shahzeb “ShahZam” Khan has confirmed that Jay “sinatraa” Won isn’t returning to the Sentinels Valorant roster.
No more sinatraa for Sentinels, says ShahZam.
While hosting a watch party of the Valorant Champions Tour NA Challengers Playoffs for his fans, Sentinels team captain Shahzeb “ShahZam” Khan briefly confirmed that his former teammate wouldn’t be coming back to the roster after his suspension.
ShahZam watched the match between FaZa Clan and Team Envy on his stream when a fan prompted a somewhat controversial question via a $5 donation. The question asked: “when sintaraa’s suspension ends, will he have a spot on the main roster?”
ShahZam was surprised by the question read aloud by a bot but quickly replied by saying, “No, this is our team now.”
Former Sentintels player Jay “sinatraa” Won is currently serving a suspension brought about by sexual harassment allegations raised by his ex-girlfriend, Cleo Hernandez, in March. sinatraa’s suspension will end on September 10, 2021.
Tyson “TenZ” Ngo joined Sentinels on loan from Cloud 9 as a replacement for sinatraa. Since joining the team, Sentinels have won Masters 1, Stage 2 Challengers 2, Stage 2 Challengers Finals, Masters 2 Reykjavik, Stage 3 Challengers 1, and the recently concluded Challengers Playoffs. Along with those titles is a total of $380,000 in winnings.
If sinatraa has indeed lost his place on Sentinels’ roster, he still has an opportunity to play in the VCT. The only way for that to happen is to get picked up by a team with enough circuit points to compete in the Last Chance Qualifiers.
However, sinatraa is still under contract with Sentinels but as a content creator. He actively streams to his 806K followers on Twitch. Since the VCT season is coming to a close, several teams will want to shuffle their rosters. There may be more opportunities for sinatraa after his suspension ends.
