Shenzhen, China. 2nd February 2024 – ChillyRoom, a Shenzhen-based developer, is thrilled to announce that the first demo for Shadow of the Depth, a new top-down action roguelike, is now live as part of Steam Next Fest.
Experience a dark and rich action roguelite adventure, where you can explore different dungeons that change every time you play. Shadow of the Depth will launch in Early Access on Steam later this year, with an immersive combat system, five unique characters, and a beautiful hand-painted world.
The Steam Next Fest demo, which you can play right now, lets you try two of the five characters, three levels in a ruined village, and a challenging boss in the depths. This demo gives you a chance to learn the combat mechanics and get a sneak peek of what awaits you in the game’s darkest corners.
Key Features of the Shadow of the Depth:
Two Characters, Two Playstyles
You can control two characters in the demo, Arthur the warrior-son of a blacksmith, and Phyllis the hunter who grew up in the forest. They both want revenge for their losses caused by the monsters. Arthur fights with a sword and shield and can block and counter attacks. Phyllis uses a bow and can shoot from a distance and dodge.
Shadow of the Depth has levels that are randomly generated, so every run is different. You can also find over 140+ passive abilities that let you customize your character’s build. You will discover new and fun ways to play every time you enter the depths.
Rewarding Combat Mechanics
Each character in Shadow of the Depth has their own set of skills and combos. You can use rhythmic combos, which require you to time your button presses, to make your attacks more effective. You will want to master all five of the game’s characters and their combat styles.
A Hand-Painted World
World Shadow of the Depth has a gorgeous hand-painted world, where the contrast between light and shadow creates a striking visual style. The dynamic lighting also adds more realism and mood to the world, making every encounter more immersive.
