After almost seven years of togetherness, Lee “Scout” Ye-chan left EDG to join another LPL team, LNG Esports.
Back in 2016, lots of teams from LCK and LPL tried to sign Scout. He used to be a part of the SK Telecom T1 roster and from time to time subbed in for Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok. He joined EDward Gaming after leaving SK Telecom T1 and competed for the organization until today. The legendary EDward Gaming mid laner, Scout, has joined LNG Esports for the upcoming season, teaming up with his fellow jungler Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong.
Scout’s professional League of Legends career began back in 2015. As mentioned, he was first discovered by SK Telecom T1. He was a sub for Faker but managed to get the jersey a couple of times from the legendary mid laner. After the LCK 2016 Spring came to an end, he joined the LPL representatives EDward Gaming. After competing for years and years, the Korean mid laner became the icon of the organization. Under the EDG roof, Scout only missed Worlds 2019, and Worlds 2020. He managed to compete in every other League of Legends World Championship. Moreover, he won the Worlds 2021 tournament, winning his first throughout his career. During his seven years with EDG, Scout lifted the LPL trophy three times.
EDward Gaming will have their first new mid laner in seven years. The organization signed FoFo, who is also another veteran LPL mid laner. LNG Esports had Doinb on the roster before signing Scout but both parties decided to part ways after the 2022 season came to an end. Both teams now have very different rosters and their competition in the upcoming season will surely be interesting. Scout’s farewell to EDG was emotional for many fans as he was a real icon of the organization. Next year, he will play against EDG which will also be interesting to watch.
