The wait for a new Valorant map is coming to a close. After giving a couple of hints, Riot Games shared a short teaser of the new playground.
The developer tries to keep the game fresh with constant updates, bringing some adjustments to game mechanics and the agents. However, it’s been nearly four months since the launch of the latest map; Breeze, Valorant’s sixth map, was released in April a month before Episode 3.
On August 31, Riot Games published a gif that shows the aftermath of a reactor explosion. The “Reactor” text is on the upper left and particles hang in the air.
This isn’t the only hint about the upcoming map. A day before, the developer shared another gif that displays electric sparks right before the explosion. In the longer version, we see some systems going off because of the flare.
The series of clues started on August 23, when Riot Games unveiled the graphic of the new map. Under the “Decode this” caption, a couple of texts from different languages are set in the image. The first one, “entzweite weiten,” is German for “divided expanses.” The second one, “futuros revelados,” is Portuguese for “revealed futures.” The last one, the Chinese text, translates to “kingdom” and “disintegrate.”
What is the name of Valorant’s new map?
Even though the official announcement is yet to be made, Valorant leakers already found the name of the map in the game’s files. According to the leakers, the name of Valorant’s newest map is “Fracture”, with the codename of Canyon.
When will Fracture be released?
The release date of Fracture isn’t clear yet. However, Riot is going to share additional details in the upcoming days. Episode 3 Act 2 will begin on September 8 and the map is expected to be released with the start of Act 2.
