With almost all the APAC Last Chance Qualifier participants complete, Riot Games have shared more information about the upcoming tournament.
Valorant’s APAC Last Chance Qualifier is the last hope for Asian teams to make into the final event of the year, Valorant Champions. There’s only one slot available for the taking, and a total of ten teams will be competing for it.
We previously covered the initial announcement of the APAC Last Chance Qualifier when the dates were revealed. The tournament will take place from October 11-17. The participating teams will come from SEA, China, Korea, Japan, and South Asia via VCC.

As announced by Riot, the participants will battle it out in the best-of-three double-elimination bracket from October 11-16. A best-of-five grand final will take place on October 17. The winner will secure the final APAC slot for Valorant Champions at Berlin this December.
Riot Games explained that they had to ensure “the top-seeded teams from Southeast Asia, China, Korea, and Japan will be seeded into the second round. According to the rule, Southeast Asian teams cannot match with each other in the initial rounds.”
Still no official word about China & other issues
There will be two teams representing China in the APAC LCQ, as previously reported. However, there’s still no definite word from Riot Games which teams will participate and what tournament they will qualify.
Moreover, there are questions about APAC LCQ being online. According to Riot, the decision to have the LCQ as an online tournament was a result of travel restrictions due to COVID-19. The concern over ping issues will be on the minds of fans and participants, with teams spread as far away as India to Japan.
Riot shared the details pertained to the broadcast of the APAC Last Chance Qualifier. There will be one English broadcast on Valorant’s official Twitch channel. On top of other broadcasts for each local market in local languages of Tagalog, Bahasa, Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, and even a South Asian broadcast (most likely Hindi/English).
