Looks we have a Project L Release Date / Beta leak thanks to Evo 2023!
Riot’s new League of Legends fighting game got some big updates during EVO.
Here is everything we know so far..
Project L Release Date & Beta News
Gamers who attended EVO 2023 got the chance to try out Riot’s new team-based 2D fighter, Project L.
While the tournaments were on, players were able to try out their favourite League of Legends champs in a whole new genre.
Riot Games has not officially announced the release date, but leaks suggests that an official release could occur as early as early 2024!
Before the official release date, we can expect to see a beta roll out to test out the netcode, of course. Event attendees who conversed with the staff interpreted indications pointing towards a potential December release timeframe for a Beta or Alpha version of some kind.
But make sure not to take this as gospel, as release windows can change on a whim even when officially announced.
However, what is certain is that Project L will be a free-to-play game. Also, we know for sure that it will release on both PS5 and PC platforms. This is due to observers noticing that the game-playing booths were utilizing the mentioned platforms.
Additionally, we are aware that Project L allows for solo play against another player or for teams of two players. This means a total of four players can play at once. But if there is a lack of players around for us, we can rely on the AI to take up the slots.
Yasuo makes the Cut
On top of being able to play Project L Evo 2023, attendees got to try out the new fighter, Yasuo.
One of League of Legends most iconic and beloved champions, this surprises no one but is great to see the samurai in action.
From the looks of his reveal trailer, Yasuo is shaping up to be a more technical fighter. The developers mention that he has a wide range of customizable moves and useful assist mechanics, such as his iconic Windwall, which can block projectiles.
While Yasuo is played mainly in the bottom and mid lanes in League of Legends, here it seems his role is to focus the neutral game with pokes and footsies, opening up the opportunity for punishment.
We have yet to see Jinx make the cut since the official announcement trailer. But it is safe to say she and Caitlyn will be added at some point up until release.
Hopefully, we will see a Teemo reveal drop soon!
