After being out for two months on Nintendo Switch, TiMi Studio’s Pokemon Unite is now available on mobile devices alongside a new battle pass. The much-anticipated game is The Pokémon Company’s take on the ever-popular MOBA genre, and it has already garnered a big player base.
Pokemon Unite incorporates aspects from the MOBA genre while also retaining some classic Pokemon characteristics. It is a 5v5 game where players try to score goals by completing different objectives. At the end of the game (fixed time duration), the team with higher goal points marches towards victory. That said, there are many nuances to the game, such as camp-clearing, pathing, itemization, and more, that players will only grasp by playing it regularly.
Gearing up for a space invasion
To celebrate the release of Pokemon Unite on the mobile platform, developers are also adding a brand new space-themed battle pass to the game. The battle pass is called “Galactic Ghost 094,” and it is introducing a bunch of new skins, including a pirate skin for Charizard and a spacesuit for Gengar. Garchomp, Snorlax, Pikachu, Lucario and Blastoise are also getting new skins. Players will be able to customize their characters even more, and there are a bunch of new missions in the game with cool rewards on completion. Furthermore, Sylveon and Mammoswine are the latest Pokémon joining the growing roster of Pokémon Unite.
Apart from the new introductions, several Pokemon are receiving nerfs/buffs to balance the state of the game. There have been complaints from fans regarding the Pay-to-win nature of the game, and TiMi Studios is actively trying to minimize it.
Pokemon Unite is a cross-platform game
Pokemon Unite supports cross-platform gaming, and players can dabble between Nintendo Switch and mobile devices without any hassle. Make sure to link your in-game account to your Nintendo Account or Pokemon Trainer Club account, and you will be able to jump between the different platforms.
