The North American team, Cloud9, have announced today that they have parted ways with Luka “Perkz” Perkovic.
One of West’s best League of Legends players, Perkz, joined Cloud9 last year after leaving G2 Esports. He was the core member of the European organization but decided to spend a year in LCS. After one year, the Croatian mid laner has decided to leave the team by agreeing mutually with the organization.
Perkz was considered one of the best mid laners in the world and he also swapped his role to ADC and almost lifted the MSI trophy. He joined Cloud9 on a multi-million deal and won the LCS 2021 Spring trophy. Cloud9 also became third in Summer to compete at Worlds 2021 tournament.
C9 had a great Worlds journey this year as they reached the quarterfinals after beating Rogue and FunPlus Phoenix in the group stage. However, the team fell short against Gen.G and came back without reaching the semifinals. It was still a great success for them considering their group stage opponents.
Many rumors were flying around about Perkz coming back to Europe to play under the Team Vitality uniform. Today, Cloud9 announced his departure from the organization with a video. According to the announcement, the Croatian mid laner’s departure has been confirmed.
Perkz’s next destination is not official yet but there are strong rumors that he will be joining Team Vitality in LEC. He proved his worth many times in his career inside and outside of LEC.
