The Path of Exile 2 Skill Tree can be really intimidating when you first look at it, especially for those who have not played the previous title. There are so many skills that you can unlock, so that is why we are here to help you.
In this article, we will tell you everything you need to know about the Skill Tree so that you can approach this game mechanic with a little more awareness. It can seem confusing at first, but with a little attention, you will be able to immerse yourself in it.
How Does the Path of Exile 2 Skill Tree Work?
First of all, let’s start by saying that the Path of Exile 2 Skill Tree is unique and is shared with all the classes that are present in the game. This means, therefore, that there are no specific Skill Trees for each individual class. Considering also what we said in the article dedicated to Dual Specialization, this is certainly a positive thing.
Every time you have a point, therefore, you can use it to unlock one of the skills that are present, regardless of your reference class. Useful, isn’t it? Furthermore, in case you realize that the skills you have unlocked are not exactly those necessary for your purposes, you have the possibility of respec them (provided that you have gold to use).

Attributes
But now that we have given you the general information, let’s get to the point. The Path of Exile 2 Skill Tree is divided into three large areas related to the attributes: Intelligence, Strength, and Dexterity. This is important to know because, even if there is a single Skill Tree, each class will start from a different point of it to be able to branch out to reach the other attributes.
So, if, for example, you decide to start your adventure with a class whose main attribute is Strength, this does not mean that you will be locked out from the others. By retracing the various nodes, you will still have the possibility of being able to reach the other attributes and build your personal build.
Different Types of Nodes
In addition to the nodes that concern the attributes, the Path of Exile 2 Skill Tree is also composed of other types of nodes, each with its own characteristics.
Minor nodes allow you to have a small bonus for a certain statistic or skill. Major nodes, on the other hand, are often linked to minor nodes and allow you to have a bigger bonus for the same statistic or skill.
Finally, there are also keystone nodes that are found at the branches with other nodes and are those that allow you to have greater bonuses (so we recommend that you trace your skill path, also taking this type of node into account).

How to Respec Skills in Path of Exile 2
We mentioned earlier that in Path of Exile 2 you are not condemned to use the skills you unlock even if you realize that they are not for you. In fact, once you have passed a certain point in Act I and once you have saved the Hooded One, you will be able to interact with this NPC to be able to respec your skills.
Of course, this is not something you can do for free, but you will have to pay some gold. At the beginning of your adventure it may not seem like such an easy thing to do, but as you progress and accumulate gold, it will no longer be something that can worry you so much.
