To climb and get free elo in this patch, we have the best champions for each lane in Patch 13.8!
Patch 13.8 is the MSI patch, and we have seen a lot of microchanges to 16 champions!
Janna was buffed, even though she’s super strong anyways, and Malphite’s nerfs knock him off the top spot!
Top Lane: Poppy
The small Yordle with a big hammer is a sleeper pick in Patch 13.8, with buffs coming through this patch to put her up from a decent pick to one of the best in the Top Lane!
Her Q, Hammer Shock, has had its target health damage go from 8% to 9%, and her W, Steadfast Presence, has had its Bonus Resistances increased from 10% to 12%.
These buffs make her so much tankier and allow her to poke enemies in lane much easier!
In a meta where most champions have dashes or movement abilities at the top of the tier list, Poppy’s ability to stop them from doing this is insanely useful.
Other powerful Top Laners such as Ornn, Malphite, and Shen all will struggle into Poppy, so pick her up! That is why the champion made it to our patch 13.8 best champions in each lane list!
Jungle: Jarvan IV
Similar to Patch 13.7, the Prince of Demacia is reigning tall atop the Jungle tier list – despite some nerfs coming in this patch.
The nerfs were lackluster, with his Q, Dragon Strike, only losing 10 damage at all ranks, and his AD growth decreasing to 3 from 3.4.
We didn’t expect a meta-shifting nerf, considering we put this champion second in our Best Junglers of patch 13.7, but we did expect Riot Games to balance him slightly more so he isn’t a pick/ban champ in MSI!
His Q, Dragon Strike, and E, Demacian Standard, the combo is too good to pass up on, and as one of the best engage tools onto carry champions, J4 can dominate in any team comp!
Mid Lane: Annie
Last patch, we mentioned it was a toss-up between Annie and Cassiopeia for the best Mid Laner, but ultimately we went for the snake. This patch, however, we are switching it up and claiming Annie to be the best Mid Laner to climb with!
Annie has received countless nerfs this season, but still, she stands strong as one of the easiest and surefire LP gainers.
Ever since her Passive, Pyromania, granted her maximum stacks when starting the game and respawning in Patch 13.3, she’s been unstoppable!
Her point-and-click stun with her Q, Disintegrate, means that ganking the Tibbers fanatic is a free kill or Flash from the enemy Mid Laner.
She also does excellently into assassins, which are somewhat prevalent, with Zed, Katarina, and Ahri all boasting around a 10% play rate this patch!
Annie is a solid pick, and that is why you are seeing it in our Patch 13.8 best champions in each lane list.
Bot Lane: Jinx
Jinx is still the best ADC champion in the game by far, and although the gap is closing, no other ADC can get close to matching her power!
All she needs is one reset in a teamfight with her Passive, Get Excited!, and she can hunt down every enemy she comes across. Being able to exceed the attack speed cap is insane, and the extra 25% attack speed she gets means she can auto away endlessly!
Xayah and Tristana are two good options if you cannot play Jinx, but we recommend actually banning Jinx just to ensure the enemy cannot pick her!
Milio is our OP support for Patch 13.8, and the Enchanter is the best around. His disengage and engage abilities are unrivaled, as he can throw enemies away with his Q, Ultra Mega Fire Kick, and speed enemies up with two casts of E, Warm Hugs.
Rakan, our Support pick from patch 13.7, received a small set of nerfs this patch, but we would still recommend him as a ban for you Milio one-tricks out there!
Milio’s ultimate, Breath of Life, being an AOE heal and cleanse, is way too strong not to abuse in this meta, before it surely gets nerfed! So if you Support mains haven’t tried the campfire boy yet, give him a go and get free LP!
What did you think of our Patch 13.8 best champions in each lane list? Did we get it right, if you play any of these champions, enjoy the free climb!
