Blizzard is ramping things up for Overwatch 2 Season 17 with new content, returning features, and a fresh Battle Pass. In the latest Weekly Recall, the development team shared what players can expect leading into the new season and beyond.
Dual Mythics and Battle Pass
For the first time in Overwatch history, two Mythic skins will launch on day one. These high-tier cosmetics will be available through the Season 17 Battle Pass. Players can choose which Mythic they want to unlock first. This update is designed to offer more flexibility and progression variety.
Stadium Mode Evolves
The new round-based PvP mode, Stadium, is getting updates. Expect balance changes, new maps, and more competitive structure. Blizzard is focusing on making Stadium more dynamic while maintaining its core format.

Map Voting Returns
Map Voting is back. Starting in Season 17, players will once again have a say in which maps appear in their matches. This change is based on player feedback and aims to improve matchmaking and satisfaction.
Hero Balance and Role Passives
Blizzard is also tweaking Hero balance and reworking Role Passives. Damage, Tank, and Support roles will each have unique gameplay benefits. These passives are meant to create better team synergy and reduce frustration in solo queues.
Looking Ahead
The devs hinted at long-term goals for Overwatch 2, including more frequent events and better player rewards. A focus on faster response to community feedback is also part of the roadmap.
Get ready—Season 17 kicks off soon, and Blizzard is promising one of the most engaging updates yet.
