European esports organization OG Esports has announced a partnership with British esports organization LDN UTD.
LDN UTD’s VALORANT team will rebrand to OG LDN UTD through this partnership. In addition, it will operate as a joint-venture team.
Because of the partnership, the team will wear co-branded OG LDN UTD jerseys at the upcoming VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers on May 13, 2022. Both organizations will provide support to the players. This will include regular boot camps and other services.
Both organizations will also focus on growth and joint events. Some of these events will occur at LDN UTD’s Centre of Excellence venue in Camden, London.
The day-to-day operations will be run by LDN UTD’s Head of Esports, Ali Rashid, alongside OG’s Head of Esports, Mike Schwartz. OG LDN UTD will keep the existing Lithuanian-majority roster.
OG Esports said it will continue to support and operate its current French VALORANT roster until the end of the season.
“Very rarely do we have a chance to work with another value-driven company, and in LDN UTD, we have found a perfect match.”
JMR Luna, CEO of OG Esports.
“We love their community-driven initiatives and what they are building, so when we all sat down together and spoke, we became very excited about this adventure together. We think they have done a very good job building and nurturing this project, and we hope we can contribute to its success this new season,” commented JMR Luna, CEO of OG Esports.
This partnership between OG and LDN UTD was a surprise. However, joint-venture teams are a practical way to share the expenses of operating a top-tier esports roster and allow for further growth and support for players.
