Indie studio Everbloom Games has released a playable demo for Nullpoint Protocol, a 1–4 player co-op roguelite designed to deliver the thrill of MMO-style raid encounters without the long-term grind. The demo is available now on Steam, featuring support for online co-op, local couch co-op, and solo play.
Nullpoint Protocol blends the high-stakes mechanics of MMORPG boss raids with the repeatable, skill-driven structure of roguelites. The game draws inspiration from titles like Rabbit and Steel, while echoing the complexity and coordination found in raid encounters from games such as Final Fantasy XIV.
Raid-Scale Boss Battles, No Subscription Required
Each run tasks players with hunting down the Void Shepherds, cosmic monstrosities capable of dragging entire planets and stars into oblivion. Playing as a Hunter, your objective is to destroy as many of these beings as possible before returning home to defend your world from the entity responsible for creating them.
Boss encounters are built around layered mechanics and intricate attack patterns that demand precision, positioning, and teamwork. With every run, players refine their skills, unlock new abilities, and strengthen their characters through upgrades earned along the way.
To keep gameplay balanced, Nullpoint Protocol dynamically scales difficulty based on party size, ensuring that solo runs and full four-player squads remain equally intense and rewarding.
What’s Included in the Demo
The currently available demo offers a substantial slice of the experience, including:
- Three raid-style boss encounters
- 29 total player abilities, including 15 core abilities with additional upgrades earned through loot and shops
- Full support for online co-op and local couch co-op
Looking Ahead to Full Release
Everbloom Games plans to significantly expand Nullpoint Protocol at full launch with additional bosses, a larger ability pool, meta-progression systems, lore journals, and randomized events capable of drastically altering each run. The game is currently targeting a 2026 release.
Founded in 2016, Everbloom Games is best known for its work on the Minecraft Marketplace, collaborating with major brands such as Disney, Dungeons & Dragons, and Universal. Nullpoint Protocol marks the studio’s first original indie title developed outside the Minecraft ecosystem.
Gamelevate will continue to track Nullpoint Protocol’s development, with hands-on impressions and updates as the game moves closer to its full release.
