Notch has basically announced he is working on a Minecraft 2 spiritual successor.
The original creator of Minecraft and Mojang has been out of the game for a while.
But now he says he wants to make a Minecraft 2 successor in his own way.
Minecraft 2 Boogaloo
Notch has been on a binge ever since making Minecraft. You make the most popular game of all time, then sell it for billions, then get depressed. But then in a 4D chess move, you announce Minecraft 2!
How will he be able to make a sequel when Microsoft holds the rights? Well, Notch says in his own words that he will work on not infringing the property. However, while it will not be called a direct sequel, he says it will be just that.

On X, Notch has been posting like a drunk guy outside a 711 at 2 am. Making comments on politics, other games, and his swordsmanship, wink wink.
To be honest, a lot of people wrote him off as a George Lucas but the worst type. Guy sells his most beloved IP he made from the ground up and gets upset; sad violin plays.
But he has also been working on two games in the background under the veil of controversy. Firstly, being the loud and proud Minecraft 2. Also a roguelike he has personally been making that fits more like Stardew games.
The man seems to be on the up, having found his love for game making again. Although he thought it would be pointless making one similar to his last, he says he is having a blast making a Minecraft 2-esque game.

Again, I gotta point out it’s going to be as close to a sequel as it legally can be. He cannot call it Minecraft 2, of course, because Bill Gates would run in!
But CaveMake is up for grabs. Notch, give me a call; I have some other bangers.
Midmob Crisis
A few years ago, the famous Notch sold his IP for billions of dollars to Microsoft. They then proceeded to integrate it onto every platform. Also, they made a bunch of versions for education and AI learning stuff.
However, what they did not add are any updates that warrant returning to the game for more than a week. Although Notch says Microsoft is alright with leaving Mojang to their vices, they really have been caught lacking in terms of updates.

Nothing worthy of saying, Minecraft 2 just dropped. No, more like, Oh, they added frogs and not any other mobs. Funnily enough, they do these votes for mobs to add to the next update that the fans can choose from.
But really nothing is stopping them from just adding all of those mobs. What, you’re going to tell me they do not have enough money?
Damn, it’s really hard to code firefly mobs into a game, let me tell you. Maybe we can expect something like that in Minecraft 2.

Also, just to note, so far all we have is a trust me, bro, from Notch himself. However, this is a trust me, bro, from a gaming billionaire with nothing else to do but make games, so we might be in good hands.
