When it comes to the Nintendo Switch 2 Vs Original Switch which is better?
Having been playing with the newest console from Nintendo I have come closer to the answer.
But is this marginal upgrade worth the hefty price tag as it stands right now with no games?
Switch 2 Vs Original Switch
Firstly, I am talking about both the original Switch and OLED model. Yes, the title is Switch 2 Vs Original Switch but come on they are the same thing.
Although the OLED has a nicer screen and some general improvements it’s still an OG Switch. However, I am not talking about the Switch Lite for obvious reasons.
Also let’s cut to it the Switch 2 is obviously the more powerful console. With more up to date AI scaling and Nvidia infrastructure it allows games like Breath Of The Wild to play at a smooth 60fps no problems. It can even support up to 4k 120hz docked.

In fact, it even beats out PC emulation for once. As Nintendo have rolled out paid for Switch 2 updates for older games, they actually tweak the games to improve whole. So rather than say force bumping resolution out then noticing bad models they have gone in and fixed it.
However, when discussing Switch 2 Vs Original Switch it’s a bit of a dirty footnote. Yes, the Switch 2 runs older games better but for a price tag! Because to upgrade your 60-dollar old copy of BOTW costs another 10 bucks!

Sorry but Sony set the standard with most if not all major upgrades from ps4 to PS5 being free!
But no big boy Nintendo wants to squeeze as much as they can from you cough up another 10er please!
Also, that’s as of right now all there is to talk about with Switch 2 Vs Original Switch. Because newest Switch really does not have any game apart from Mario Kart World.
Switch With No Games To Buy
Unless you have been dying to play that or SF6, Cyberpunk or Nintendo Switch 2 World Tour there is nothing. Yes, you got the new Donkey Kong and Metroid coming out in the future. But are they here now?

Right now, talking about Switch 2 Vs Original Switch the OG wins on pricing and launch lineup hands down.
The newest console with a game sets you back nearly 500 dollars while an OLED only half as much. The OLED model even has a better handheld screen and slightly longer battery handheld.
But if you are a diehard Nintendo fan or see yourself wanting the next Nintendo games then sure its worth. Although let’s be real judging by the figures you already jumped at the chance before even seeing a review.
Nintendo are making the same mistakes as Sony while they were in the lead with the PS3. They think because they are winning, they can just bump up the prices and consumer rights violations without any pushback.

But the saddest thing right now is that it seems to be working. Because Xbox are dead in the water and Sony is just vibing they really are the only gaming company that average non mentally online people trust.
Despite hiking prices through the roof at a terrible time to do so they are still selling hard. Also to add to Switch 2 Vs Original Switch the newest one has mic support, GameCube games, pretty sturdy magnetic joycon grips.

But you are still paying for a subpar online service, poorly emulated games and inevitable drift. I would say the time old strategy of sit and wait for price drops would be a done deal but Sony ruined that by hiking PS5 prices after 5 years!
So, Bing Bing wahoo for 5 hours and wait, I guess.
