Kai’Sa is a short ranged marksman that is highly versatile. There are multiple ways to build items around her skill kit.
These different build options enable Kai’Sa to be played in almost every team comp scenario.
You can play her as an AD on-hit champion; you can play her as an AP on-hit champion, a crit champion, or an AP poke mage champion.
This New Kai’Sa Build Guide will be focusing on the new AP on-hit and poke hybrid build.

Kai’Sa Build Guide: Items
This new build revolves around the newly broken Statikk Shiv. This item is the reason that Kai’Sa made a comeback in the bot lane.
Statikk Shivv allows Kai’Sa to get her E upgrade quickly and gives her a ridiculous wave of clear potential.

Once you get the Statikk Shiv, you can one-shot each wave with just one auto attack and Q. So, although the rest of the items in this list might change, Statikk Shiv will always be the core item for this build.
After you get your Statik Shivv, the next item to go for is Nashor’s Tooth. This item synergizes beautifully with Kai’Sa and this new build.

Since Nashor’s Tooth give AP, and Kai’Sa has great AP scaling, this item is the first item to build if you are planning on going AP.
Also, the on-hit effect synergizes greatly with the attack speed that we already gained from Statikk Shiv.
Now here is the tricky part of this new Kai’Sa Build Guide: After these 2 core items, most players default to building Guinsoo’s Rageblade.
However, this is not always the correct way to build. Your third item should depend on the team comps and game situation.
Guinsoo’s Rageblade will be extremely useless if you can’t find the time to hit auto attacks.
At this point, it is much better to just go Luden’s Echo and play around your W instead of your auto attacks.
After this 3 item point, I can only suggest you some situational items in this Kai’Sa Build Guide. Because it will always depend on the situation.
- If the enemy team has strong assassins, you should build Zhonya’s Hourglass
- If you feel safe in the fights and the enemy team has lots of MR, you should build Void Staff
- If you feel safe in the fights and the enemy team doesn’t have lots of MR, you should build Rabadon’s Deathcap
- If you think the game will be over until you buy Rabadon’s Deathcap, Shadowflame is a great option that is cheaper.
As we have mentioned in the introduction of this Kai’Sa Build Guide, this champion is one of the most versatile champions in LoL, and build paths can always change.
However, at this point, Statikk Shivv into Nashor’s Tooth is the best way to start your build path. You can use this guide to decide what you want to build after that!
