G2 Esports’ legendary support Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle has joined LEC’s EXCEL to compete in the league for at least another split.
G2 Esports decided to rebuild the roster for the upcoming season. They signed three players to replace the top and bottom lanes. As a result, Mikyx left the team but announced that he couldn’t find a team for the 2022 LEC Spring Split. However, the Slovenian player has now joined EXCEL and played his first game with his new team.
He first joined Fnatic as their substitute player but never had a chance to show his potential on the battlefield. He made his first LEC (EU LCS) appearance in 2016, under the Splyce uniform. Miky had great performances and reached the finals. Moreover, Splyce won the EU Regional Finals 2016 and represented Europe during Worlds 2016. After spending one more year with Splyce, he played for Misfits Gaming during the 2017 season. He left the team to join G2 Esports, where became an icon.
Most of the people met Mikyx during his time with G2 Esports. In his first split, he won the league and qualified for MSI 2019, where he lifted his first international trophy. G2 Esports had their golden times as they also won the Summer Split and reached the Worlds 2019 Finals. Despite losing the last step before trophy, G2 collected appreciation from authorities as they were the first western team to accomplish that much in a season. In 2020, G2 won both splits again and reached Worlds Semifinals but 2021 was a total bust for the organization. With Martin “Rekkles” Larsson joining to fill Luka “Perkz” Perkovic’s shoes, they failed to keep the success they had for the past two years.
Mikyx will compete for EXCEL for the rest of the season. He even played his first game against MAD Lions.
