It’s time to chill out and read this latest Emma Frost guide!
Netease’s latest addition to the roster has fans and non-fans alike checking out the lineup.
But who is this Frost character, and is she any good in terms of team composition?
Emma Frost Guide
Firstly, let’s take a good look at her and assess what type of character she actually is. Despite being telepathic, she is actually designated as a tank-style character. Not what I would have envisioned for Emma, but hey.

But for this Emma Frost Guide I’ll give you the game plan for this tanky lady. She’s both a mix of offense and defense like Magneto but with more focus on melee finishers. Being an up-close and personal gal, her tool kit designates her as a support at range and a lethal at close type.

Her left-click freezing ray being a ramp-up damage type fits that style. However, keep in mind you want to be throwing out shields as much as damage with secondary fire.

At 500 health, the shield can be moved and placed at a distance to block incoming damage. Also, you can call it back before it breaks to reposition and avoid further cooldown. It’s pretty quick on the recharge, so use it often.
But Emma Frost also takes a page out of Illaoi’s book. Soul suck on hit spawns a connected bit of Frost. Damage done to this also hits the target. Also, once destroyed, you now do extra damage to the affected target.
However, it’s best used for Emma Frost by lining both this and the target up. You can end up doing damage to the target, taking out a massive chunk of health.
Yet her Diamond form skill is probably my favorite of hers, as it gives her a temporary defense and offensive buff.
Diamond Is Unbreakable
But while in diamond form, Emma Frost gains a new temporary moveset. She gains a sweeping, large cone of damage that knocks back opponents.
While also gaining a cool run-up and grab move, throwing down the target opponent. Also, her beam attack turns into straight-up melee fists, so while in this form, keep in mind you are now the designated melee fighter.
But I would fail an Emma Frost guide to not mention her unique melee. Unlike others, she has a close-up wide cone melee. This hits targets very off-tilt from your cursor, so it’s good for frantic rushdown fighters. However, the range sucks, so only use it when really up close.

Also, her ultimate shoots out an in-front cone that takes over the minds of enemies. Targets affected will walk towards Emma Frost while taking ongoing damage.

This ult, when timed right, works wonders for wiping the other team and giving your allies a breather. Having them walk towards you can be set up for some nasty combos. But it only lasts for around 5 seconds, and you need to have clear sight of the enemies to take effect.
So overall, Emma Frost is a diamond solid character, great for taking hits and dishing them out.
