Mad Lions took down Fnatic in a close matchup and improved their winning streak to five games, surpassing Rogue in the standings.
MAD dominated the 2021 season but made a very slow start to the LEC 2022 Spring Split. After a small roster change, the reigning champions climbed their way back to the top again. After beating Fnatic this week, they improved their winning streak to five games and they are now the only leader of the regular season.
MAD Lions LEC 2022 Summer Roster
- İrfan “Armut” Tükek
- Javier “Elyoya” Prades Batalla
- Yasin “Nisqy Dinçer
- William “UNFORGIVEN” Nieminen
- Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser
In the off-season, they lost Marek “Humanoid” Brazda and Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság, two of their very important pieces. The organization kept their talent-hunting mindset and signed Steven “Reeker” Chen and William “UNFORGIVEN” Nieminen. Things did not go as planned and they parted ways with Reeker and signed Yasin “Nisqy Dinçer.
Nisqy’s arrival improved their performance and even helped them reach the top of the standings. The LEC 2022 Summer split started great for MAD Lions as they took down Team Vitality and SK Gaming in the first week. However, they lose the opening game of the second week against Rogue, making up for it by securing an important win over Fnatic. After the second week, MAD Lions took down G2 Esports, Team BDS, Astralis, Team Vitality, SK Gaming, and Fnatic, respectively. They were beaten twice, against EXCEL and Misfits Gaming, on top of their loss against Rogue.
One of the other reasons MAD Lions are the leader is that Rogue have lost three games in a row. On top of these statistics, Armut is also having a great split as he holds 5 MVPs right now, the highest in the league.
MAD will come up against EXCEL to take their revenge in the second half of the split. Even if they lose, they will still be the leader thanks to Rogue’s poor form.
